Nick's POV
Two weeks since Sage left the house had passed, yet I hadn't made not even the slightest attempt to see her.

I was too conflicted with myself. Was junior right? Was it better that she didn't remember me? Was it selfish of me to ask for her to try remembering and getting to know me? And what was this fresh start? Was it as friends or something more?

I was parked in front of her house, but I didn't have the courage to even knock on her door. What if she changed her mind and decided she wanted nothing to do with me.

I checked the time on my phone. 11:45. What if she was still asleep?

I had never thought Sage would break my heart, but nothing felt more crushing than the look in her eyes when I told her my name.

C'mon, Nick, you gotta try,  I self-encouraged.

I took a deep breath and got out the car. I walked to the door and raised my hand into a ball to knock when, suddenly, the door swung open.

Sage stared at me with wide, startled eyes. I could tell she was taken back by my appearance. She didn't know I was by the door. The only reason the door opened was because she was apparently leaving.

My eyes roamed her body as I observed the clothes she wore. She was in a light blue buttoned shirt with a navy blue pencil skirt. She held a navy blue blazor on her right arm and had navy blue flats on. On her left arm was a black purse.

"Nick," she finally acknowledged. "Hey!"

I cleared my throat before replying, "Hi!"

I wanted to continue admiring how perfectly her skirt sucked onto her hips, boasting her curves, but I didn't want to come off distracted or rude.
