Lionesse's pov

Ash held his hands up for her to hold him.

The poor boy was 4 years old while his sister, Tamara was 6.

They lost their parents 2 years ago and that's why Ash was so attached to her.

He barely felt his mother's love before she was killed.

Lionesse too lost her family, she knew that pain so she was more than willing to offer all the love she could to ease Ash's pain.

The poor boy was so tired he could barely keep his eyes open.

"Time for bed" she whispered, picking him up and placed him on her bed beside Tamara who was already asleep.

She kissed both their eyes, then tucked them in.

As she turned to leave, Ash clutched her sleeve tightly in his tiny fists, refusing to let her go.

"Please don't leave Lion king, please? I don't want to be alone" he begged and nuzzled his head in her neck.

"Never" she promised him with a whisper, "I am just going downstairs to train a woman that really needs it. So she doesn't feel helpless"

"Can you sing me a song?"

Lionesse smiled softly then slowly pulled his arms from her neck and positioned him on her lap holding him tightly and began singing 'Your guardian angel' the song her father sang to her before .

'I will never let you fall

I'll stand up with you forever

I'll be there for you through it all

Even if saving you sends me to heaven'

"Promise you'll be back when we wake up tomorrow?" he whispered with his eyes closed.

"I promise" She said softly.

Silently, she made her way downstairs knowing that the men would've left by now and Christine would be waiting in the gym.

A sharp pain struck her ankles just before she was about to open the gym's door.

She grabbed the handle before she fell and took a deep breath.

The silver cuffs must've rubbed against the skin that wasn't covered by gauze burning her a little.

When she felt good enough to stand without the wall's support, she pushed the doors open and greeted Cristina who was sitting on a bench.

"Ready?" Lion asked and Christina responded by nodding.

"First of all this is not how a warrior stands" she instructed, "Stand straight"

"Second of all and most importantly, you should know that a warrior never retreats and never surrenders because they fight for a cause. For something they hold dear. Everyone has a different reason that motivates them to fight, to keep pushing and you shall find yours. If you have no cause then it is pointless"

Christina listened intently and nodded .

Then they started training.

It wasn't much or extreme, a warm up, then a couple of self defense moves. They kept repeating them till she mastered them.

When Lionesse sensed that Christina couldn't go on, she told her it was enough for today, there was no point in rushing.

Lionesse made her way back to her room, where she sat by the window, doing some paperwork Charon gave her for the pack.

She read carefully every report her pack mates have written about the attacks, then marked each location they mentioned on the map she always carried.

She noticed there was a pattern to the vampires' attacks.

The places they attacked, the way they fought, the numbers they attacked with...

It could prove useful.

She needed to talk to Charon in the morning.

After that she changed into her pajamas and carefully got in bed as to not wake the kids.

As she was about to drift off, she felt something wrapping around her.

Looking down she saw Ash wrapping his arms around her waist placing his head on her chest still sleeping.

She smiled at him and wrapped her arms around him too.
