Zane was burning with rage. He was just about done with everyone's bullshit. Telling him he's not good enough. He especially hated when he received the reoccurring "why can't you be more like your sister?" Whenever he got that, it stung. Although this is a fact he would never admit. All he wanted to do was scream "why am I not like my sister?! WHY AM I NOT LIKE MY SISTER. ARE YOU F*CKING KIDDING ME. BECAUSE IM NOT MY SISTER. I'M ZANE. I THOUGHT THAT WAS GOOD ENOUGH FOR YOU BUT OBVIOUSLY NOT." But Zane didn't say anything. 
                          
He simply took a deep breath, turned around and stomped to his room. He slammed the door as loud as he could and sat on his bed. His fists were clenched so hard he thought he might leave bleeding half-moons on them. His teeth were clenched so hard that he thought his jaws might brake. Slowly, Zane lifted his head to look in the mirror and came to realization of how much of a mess he looked. His whole face was flushed Crimson and hot tears were streaming from his puffy eyes. He glanced at the reflection of the walkie-talkie resting on his desk and turned away from the mirror to face it. Zane didn't get up or do anything... he simply stared at it in contemplation.
                          
'Should I bother her?... I don't wanna be a nuisance... but-'
                          
Suddenly, the sound of Hailey's voice rung through his mind.
                          
"Zane, I'll always be here to talk. You know that. You're one of my best friends and I don't care what I'm doing, I'll drop anything to make sure you're okay. Understand?"
                          
Slowly and hesitantly, he reached toward the walkie-talkie and began to twist the knob turning it into the right channel.
                          
Eventually, the static lowered and was replaced with the sweet melody of a song he knew all too well... "Someone to Stay." Overtop of the singing, he heard the swift rhythm of a pencil crayon rubbing against paper. The girl was singing and drawing. Zane felt a small smile creep over his lips. She sounded so happy...
                          
Before saying anything, Zane raised the speaker to his ear and listened intently to the girl's voice. 
                          
"Hear you falling and lonely cry out
Will you fix me up? Will you show me hope?
At the end of the day, were helpless..."
                          
"Can you keep me close? Can you love me most?" Zane finished into the microphone in a soft whisper.
                          
He heard the sound of a pencil drop on a desk and suddenly, the colouring stopped. There was a long pause of nothing but silence between the two as the music continued its melody. Nothing was shared between the two until the music faded indicating that Hailey had lowered the volume.
                          
Zane took a quivering breath as he let the words escape his mouth. "Code red..." he whispered.
                          
From the other line, there was a bump and smash and he tried not to laugh imagining the girl get up in a panicked mind-set reaching for her walkie-talkie. 
                          
"Hey! What's up? Are-are you okay?" The sound of his best friend's voice rung through the air from Zane's hand and he smiled sadly a tear rolling down his cheek.
                          
"Uh... no..."
