Once you finally let reality soak into mind. It wasn't real. None of it. Not the shattered bone; not the skeletal fragments protruding from your skin. Not the various sharp instruments being twisted in your flesh so deep you had no idea how you were still alive.
However, your throat felt hoarse. Like you'd been screaming in your sleep. The fog in your mind drifted off as a knock at the door came. It sounded frantic.
Fuck. You threw on the closest shirt and rushed to the door. The knocking came again this time more desperate. You unlocked the several different latches and chain slides. You cracked the door. "w-who is it...", Your voice cracks when you speak.
"Ma'am! are you alright I've been knocking for the last 20 minutes! I was ready to call the cops! Why where you screaming bloody murder"
Who is he? a neighbor maybe... He had light white hair and a fatherly vibe to him. You open the door all the way. "I-I'm really sorry if I bothered you. I had a really awful nightmare, I c-couldn't wake up ..." your voice was very hard to use.
"Honey, I honestly thought you where getting robbed, or worse"
You sigh, "I'm fine I'm sorry to of disturbed you."He passively scans your face. You probably look like utter shit. Deep set dark circles sat beneath your doe-like eyes.
"It's quite alright miss...I am a doctor if things seem to get out of hand my house is right next door. My doors always open." Usually, you spit in his face and call him and call him a pig, but he didn't seem like someone who meant harm. Just like a concerned neighbor trying to lend a hand."The names Dr. Jeffery Davis"
"That's a very kind gesture. If things seem to out of hand you'll be my first stop alright. I'm (y/n)", you give him a weak smile. " Alright, but I'm only saying this because you remind me of my daughter. Now I better be off, the misses is probably panicking," he begins to walk away, but at last, minute stopped," Oh yeah and don't do drugs."
You half laugh at that, " You got it", knowing very well you be rolling up after he left.
