Young Hyun
After lunch, a pit stop, and a nap, we were finally at Detroit lake! The group all went into the bathroom to change. I had already finished and was waiting outside the ladies room for Mallorie.
"Young Hyun... I don't wanna come out... I don't like how I look..." I heard he say from the other side of the door.
"How come? Dowoon found those shorts for you. You should be fine!" I told her.
"Yeah, but you can still see them..." She whisper-yelled through the door.
"Mallorie, we don't care how your legs look. We'll accept you no matter how you look. Just please come out of the bathroom."
"No. Do you have any extra long shorts? In fact, go get my spandex." She said. I sighed and agreed.
"Yes, ma'am. I'll be right back." After I finally found the car again, I began to search the back. In her bag, I found another pair of grey basketball shorts Sungjin had packed. These should do... I grabbed them and hurried to the bathroom. Now, there was a line trying to get in. I knocked on the door. "Mal, I have your shorts!" I yelled to her. A hand poked out of the door and grabbed the shorts from me.
"Thank you dear!" I waited for another short moment before she revealed herself. "Sorry about the wait..." She said to a woman holding two kids, who put her nose up and walked into the bathroom.
"Are you good, now?" I asked. The shorts were almost to her knees.
"Yes, thank you. Where were these? You didn't trade them from a homeless person, did you?" I smiled at her concern.
"Nope. I found them in Sungjin's bag." I said, grabbing her hand.
"Then why did he need new shorts?" She asked I shrugged.
"I dunno. Why not?"
"Because it took him forever to pick when he already has a pair." She looked up at me with logic in her eyes. I nodded.
"Fair point. Hey, looks like Bangtan is here." I said. She went on her tiptoes to see the sandy lake.
"Ooh! Race ya!" She said, darting away.
Mallorie
I sprinted down the hill to the beach, where I jumped on Yoongi, and caught him by surprise.
"AHH! WHAT THE HELL, MALLORIE!?" He yelled. I stood behind him, trying to keep in my smile.
"Whaatt? You not like a little surprise?" I asked him. I gave him another hug. He was wearing a tee-shirt and shorts. He embraced me back. Young Hyun came down the hill.
"Damn you, Mallorie. How are you so fast?" He asked.
I shrugged. "Well, I was on the track team. I jumped hurdles and ran the 200." He looked impressed. Yoongi pulled away and grabbed my arm.
"Hey, can I talk to you? Alone..." He asked me. Young Hyun looked confused, but walked away over to Jae.
"Uh... Sure..." I said, watching him turn away. Once he sat down under a pine tree, I sat next to him and stared him dead in the face. He looked directly into my eyes. "So... What did you need to talk to me about?" I asked. He grabbed my shoulder and kissed my cheek.
"So... How've you been?" He asked me. I gave him a sincere look of confusion.
"I, uh... What's going on?" I asked.
"I asked you a question first." He responded quickly. My eyebrows knitted together at him.
"So, if I answer your question, will you answer mine?"
