"Opposites attract," Jughead said dryly before turning back towards his laptop and opening it back up.

"I just want you to be happy. I don't want to see you upset if things don't go as planned."

"I will be fine, Archie."

———

Jughead was not fine.

Firstly, California had a completely different atmosphere in the winter. The streets were void of the fluffy white stuff that decked the streets of Seattle, it was still about 65℉, and it just didn't feel like Christmas time. The boy had never taken a huge liking to the holiday, but even their family drank some hot chocolate and sucked on peppermint despite not even celebrating it. He wasn't sure if he was finding random things to pick at because he was nervous, or if the lack of spirit genuinely bothered him. It was most likely the former.

Besides the atmosphere of California, the plane ride there was also different. Jughead spent most of it cuddling Archie and being a whiny little brat. When he wasn't pestering him about how long the flight was, he was whispering dirty things in his ear and tracing his fingers over his body in the sensual way that drove the redhead crazy.

Long story short: Jughead and Archie joined the mile high club.

The raven haired beauty was just really hard to resist. Everyone thought that their honey moon phase would have been over by now since they had been dating for over a year, but that wasn't the case. If anything, their PDA got worse as time grew on. Because they didn't see each other as much as they used to, they went at it like animals every time they were together. The two didn't really seem to be concerned about it or particularly care, but everyone else was uncomfortable.

Specifically, Archie's dad and Jay are both scarred for life.

"Okay remember the rules. No drugs. No alcohol. No—" Archie rehashed from the backseat of the Uber the two were in.

"What about strip clubs?" Jughead questioned nonchalantly.

"We can't even get into a strip club. You have to be 21."

"It is California. I think we can find a place that would let us in," the boy snorted.

"You know what? No because you promised you'd strip for me and you never did so no we're not going to a strip club," Archie huffed, crossing his arms over his chest.

"Oh someone is bitter," Jughead rolled his eyes before crossing his leg over the other.

"I'm very bitter, but I'm also right."

"I agree with the redhead," the Uber driver said awkwardly from the front seat, causing the couple to blush once they realized that the car didn't exactly allow for privacy.

"Thank you," Archie laughed slightly.

"No problem. You guys make a cute couple by the way," he hummed as he tapped his fingers on the steering wheel.

"How did you know we were a couple?" Jughead asked emotionlessly.

"Well I had a feeling when you got in. You guys didn't say much to each other but you kept staring at each other like you were communicating through settle glances. There's also plenty of room in the backseat but you two insist on sitting right next to each other. You guys just argue like a couple too. Then you mentioned stripping and that sealed the deal."

"Have you ever thought about becoming a detective?" Jughead questioned seriously, leaning forward to take a good look at the driver.

"No. The real question is, is he a detective? What if he's undercover?" Archie added, leaning forward to get a good look as well.
