In the morning, I got dressed and went downstairs, Mariana was the only one at home.

"Morning!" She said looking up from her phone.
"Morning..... uh, where-where is everyone?"
"Moms at work, Callie and mamma are running errands, Brandon has band practice, and Jesus is at that wrestling thing." She said.

"Oh, well then I think I'm gonna go on a walk to the beach." I said. "Wanna come?"

"Oh," she replied. "No thanks.... I think I'm just going to stay here and relax."
"Okay, well I'll see you in like an hour or so." And with that, I was out the door.

I was kind of glad Mariana didn't want to come, I kind of wanted to clear my head. The whole thing with my mom last night confused me. I thought the beach would make me feel better.

It wasn't a long walk, only about 15 minutes to the beach by the school. It was cool this morning, so I wasn't going to swim.... just sit there and watch the waves. That was good enough for me.

I got there, and noticed there was a group of older boys sitting around a fire, drinking. I went farther down the beach, so I didn't bother them.

I sat on the sand, and took it all in. I was so lucky. Finally, I got to do things like this without getting in trouble, or feeling unsafe about going home.

About 20 minutes later, I heard someone calling out to me. "Hey, kid!" I looked over, and it was one of the boys from the circle. "Come here!"

I got an uneasy feeling about it. I shook my head no, trying to be polite.... but they still insisted.
"Come on, we don't bite!" Another one said to me.

I sighed and stood up. I slowly walk over to them. They all looked way older than me.... probably Juniors or Seniors. I really didn't want to be around them. I went anyways though.

"Hey kid." One of them said. He had black hair and big, brown eyes. "You look lonely sitting over there by yourself."
"Oh," I said shyly. "I'm fine.... I should really actually go home...." I tried to turn away, but he grabbed my arm.
"Oh, come on. Sit down, chill for awhile." I was too scared to say no, so I reluctantly sat next to him.
"Your so tense.... lighten up." He grabbed my shoulder and shook me a little bit. I nervously laughed, obvious that I wanted to leave.

"Hey," one of the boys said from across the circle. "Want a drink?" He tried to hand me a beer, but I refused.

The boy next to me kept starring at me. "Your so pretty," he said, touching my hair. "What's your name?"
"Taylor." I said quietly.
"What?"
"Taylor!" I said louder.
"Ah, a pretty name too. I'm guessing you still live with your mommy and daddy?" He said sarcastically.
I turned to him. "I actually live with my moms!"
"Wait," he chuckled. "Your moms are dykes? So what, are you like adopted or something?"
"No," I said sadly. "I actually.... I'm being fostered by them."
"Oh, so they aren't even your moms!" Another one shot out.
"Yes they are!" I shot back. "They love me!"
"Yeah," the boy sitting next to me said. "Until the government stops paying them."
"You don't know what your talking about! Your just a miserable dumb ass, that hates his life so much that you have to try and ruin mine!" I screamed in his face. I stood up, and started to run away.
"What the hell did you just say?!" He screamed. He started to run after me.

Him being bigger, and stronger, caught up to me and grabbed me again.

"Let me go!" I screamed, trying to wiggle out of his grasp. The other boys had followed and had now caught up as well.
"No, I think you need to learn a little lesson in respect." He slurred. "Reggie, gimme your belt."

I heard the guys belt come off. I screamed in terror as He threw me to the ground and held me on my stomach. I heard him lift up. "This will teach you to go around calling people miserable!"

The first hit is always the worst. It spread all along my back. The only thing I could do was scream. He moved from up my back all the way down to my thighs. And he wouldn't stop.

"Please!" I screamed. "Please, Stop!" He was too drunk to even hear me. After a minute or two, his friends started to get worried.

"Come on Mikey," one of them said. "Someone's gonna call the cops! She's had enough, let's get out of here!"
"Shut up!" He screamed, as he kept going. "Shut the hell up!"

Callie's POV
Lena and I had been running errands, and the last one was at school. She had to do some quick paperwork before we headed home.

I sat in her office, reading a magazine as she came in.
"You ready sweets?" She said.
"Yeah," I nodded. "Let's go home, I'm starving."
Lena laughed at she grabbed her purse. She then held the door for me to walk out.

We walked outside, and started to go to the car. I thought I heard something, so I stopped.

"Oh," Lena said looking back. "What's wrong babe?"
"Do you hear that?"
We stood quiet for a second. Then we both heard it.... a gut wrenching scream, followed by what sounded like belt whips.

Lena and I looked at each other wide-eyed and then bolted to where the cries where coming from. When we got to the edge of the parking lot.... my eyes met the most terrifying sight.... my baby sister being beaten by some guy on the beach.

"Call the cops!" I demanded at Lena. She was in too much shock to do anything. She just stood there, frozen.

My attention then went directly to Taylor.

"Hey!" I screamed "Get the hell off of her! We're calling the cops!" I ran as fast as I could to get to her. As much as I screamed at the guy, he wouldn't stop. Taylor's pleas were more intense now, they shook the world.

As I got closer, I could se it. Her shirt was a deep red, covered with blood.

The group of guys that were with him must have been scared. They started trying to pull him off.

"Come on, let's go!" They all screamed. Finally, the guy let up.

He stood up and glared at her, before kicking her one last time, and running off.

"Taylor!" I cried as I got to her. "Oh my god, Taylor!"
Her head lifted up off of the sand. "Callie?"
"Come on," I cried. "Come on, get up!"
She was breathing hard, sand stuck to her face from her tears. "I can't.... I can't move."
