I stood by the cart of empty tea cups, waiting as Sebastian finishes up dressing the Young Master in his new attire made up entirely of black.
Ciel’s eyes flashed red as he grinned coldly at us. I exited with the cart soon after and found Lady Elizabeth awaiting Ciel. We entertained our guest, and once she left, Sebastian went to put Ciel to bed.
I grew saddened at what had to be done, but kept to myself as I placed the cups back into their designated cupboards in the kitchen, not bothering to wash most of them since they weren’t even dirty.
I walked to Sebastian’s room, where I’d been staying since we’d returned. He sat there as well, sighing as he unbuttoned his black coat.
I walked next to him and finished unbuttoning it for him. He gave me the smallest of grins.
I sat on the side of the bed as he lay down, tiredly draping a hand over his forehead.
I gazed out his window for a moment, admiring the starry night sky.
“…Sebastian,” I started hesitantly, deciding to ask him now, while we have some time to ourselves.
“Yes, Lavender,” he murmured.
“Back at the island…” I trailed off, unsure of how to go on, “… did you mean what you said… about…”
I paused, unsure of whether I wanted the answer… especially if he ended up telling me that he’d been lying.
His hand was under my chin now as he turned my head so I was looking at him.
“About us becoming mates?” he asked quietly.
I gave him a small nod.
“Every word of it,” he whispered, his face inches from mine, and his breathe tickling my lips.
I smiled softly, and my eyes began to shine with tears. The feeling was foreign to me, as demons almost never cry, or show emotion for that matter…
“Which reminds me,” He continues, a glint reaching his previously softened eyes, “I’d been further tainting you before we were rudely interrupted,” he stated, moving his face closer to mine.
I smiled as I gazed into his darkened scarlet eyes.
“Yes you were,” I murmured, his soft lips brushing mine with every word.

The next morning I sat gazing at the marking on my other hand, Sebastian’s mark. It was more faded than my own mark, which was painted across my other hand. I ran a finger along the faded mark.
Sebastian wrapped an arm around my waist and interlaced our hands together. I looked down proudly at my mark which faintly shown on his hand.
I leaned on him, and he placed his chin atop my head.
“Forever,” he whispered.
“Forever,” I replied.

We sat in the carriage, my hand interlocked with Sebastian’s.
We’d just left the Phantomhive manor, after sending out the letters informing all of Ciel’s friends and acquaintances of his ‘death’.
The carriage bustled along, as we remained silent.
After Ciel had plummeted into the sea, he’d become a demon. Since, the last orders he’d given us had been for Sebastian to eat his soul, and for me to help Sebastian do that… we were bound in eternal servitude… since Sebastian could never eat Ciel’s soul now that it was nonexistent.
Sebastian and I were whispering to each other as the carriage moved along.
Ciel glanced at us warily.
“You two smell different,” he stated simply.
I blushed and Sebastian didn’t directly meet Ciel’s gaze. I held up my hand with Sebastian’s mark, and Sebastian held up his hand with my mark.
“Mates,” Sebastian said simply.
Ciel’s eyes widen a fraction; “Oh…” was his reaction.
“Oh indeed, young master,” I giggled as I held Sebastian’s hand.
He smiled down at me with one of his rare soft gazes.
My enhanced hearing caught the almost silent grumblings of the young lord, and I almost laughed out loud at what I heard,
“Oh great… stuck forever with two lovey-dovey demons.”
