The day finally came. The day we would be given a home to live in. Mary let me decide on the location as long as it was appropriate for te distance of the facility. I chose it a few miles away from the school that Jacob goes to. I wanted to go as soon as possible. So Mary sets up and organizes our new house while I sneak out and order an Uber. Earth is so cool. The day is sunny and warm with a few clouds. Not how Jake described it. I enter the Uber and ask the driver his favorite thing about Earth. He responds "I like the rocks. They are really nice to look at." I thought it was kinda weird but rocks are cool too. As we arrive at our destination I pay him and walk up to the front of the school. This is a private school so I had to fetch my uniform. I walk into the front office. I was really nervous. "Um hi I'm enrolled online and today is my first day at your actual location. So I need to pick up my uniform." They all pause for a minute. "And your name?" I answer "Olivia Jace Thomson." They hand me my uniform and give me a directory. They also call for a student to show me around. I didn't hear their name so I didn't know who was coming. I wait outside of the office in the quad. I still had my watch on from the colony. Now that we were on Earth we had to always had our watches on. They are extremely high tech so I don't really blend in. I check the weather. It says it should rain in 30 minutes. I had never seen rain. I am so excited. I hear footsteps. And then I see him. In person. Right in front of me. In total shock I just stand their awkwardly and say "Jacob, hi. It's me... Olivia." After a few seconds he rushes toward me and gives me a huge hug. I hug home back. Suddenly i feel a sharp pain in my chest. My monitor. I wince. "Liv! Your here. I got your message and I didn't respond because you know... I didn't think it was true! I was beginning to think that I had just made you up or something. Hey are you ok?" I sit down on the bench. I take a few deep breaths. "Yeah it's just my monitor. I'm not supposed to have close contact or else it winds up. But that's how I open the doors so I guess I'm used to it." "Oh, well I need to ask you. Did you actually live on Mars?" "Yeah I did. I lived on te colony on Mars and it was pretty boring. It was more like torture really. I could see Earth so clearly and yet it was so out of reach."
