“Dude, Mindy is irritating the hell out of me!” Felix grumbled as he slammed his tray on their table.

“She is hitting on you too?” Max asked curiously.

Felix gave him a flat look. “No. She is always asking about Asher and Josh knowing very well that they are the best of friends.”

“Oh. She's so stupid,” Max grinned stuffing his mouth with a bunch of french-fries.

Asher and Josh rolled their eyes. She is stupid. Asher remembered all the times she used to hit on Josh and when she did not get any response from him, she switched over to him, in front of Josh himself. She even tried to hit on Felix once but he scared her away by talking about nuclear weapons and how he would not hesitate to use one on her. Max was out of question. When he first saw her approaching him, with the most serious look on his face, he clearly stated, “Not interested.” Asher, Josh and Felix knew the reason all too well and they could not be any more proud of Max.

“What did she do now?” asked Asher, not at all interested in knowing Mindy’s intentions. But Felix seemed as if he could do with some ranting.

“She is crazy, man!” Felix replied, banging his head on the table. “She sat on my desk— on my desk— in homeroom and was like 'I miss him so much! OMG, he's so hot! Asher is just like the cutie-pie! Josh is so hot and mysterious!' And I don't even want to start about her spider eyelashes-”

“Okay, okay, we get it!” Josh interrupts him thankfully. Asher couldn't spend another half a minute listening about Mindy’s spider eyelashes.

“Have any of you heard anything about the new girl?” Max questions. “She seems different.”

Josh scowls while Asher beams. But they both ignore his question.

“She is in my biology class,” Felix answers with a frown. “Seems like she is friends with Elle Hills.”

“Elle Hills? The nerd? The loner?” Max asks amused with this little piece of information but Asher, Josh and Felix did not grace him with a reply. They rolled their eyes at him and continued with their lunch. “First Sienna and now Elle. I think she has got a thing for loners,” Max mumbled.

“Shut up, Max,” Felix reprimanded him. “Elle was smiling today. She never smiles.”

Asher smiled. “Yeah, she is something else. She even gave Josh a nickname!”

“What?!” Felix and Max gaped at Josh who was glaring at Asher which hardly fazed him.

“Yeah, she is in our Art class and she calls Josh PJ.” They snickered at Josh who was trying to kill his empty tray with his eyes.

“PJ? What the hell does it mean?” Max enquired.

“Pretty Jacket, apparently.”

They all laughed out loud while Josh tried not to smash their heads on the table. “Thank you for enlightening them, Ash.”

Now it was Asher’s turn to scowl at them.

“I am beginning to hate this class,” Josh announced on their way to Art class.

Asher snorted. “We've had only one class.”

“That was enough for me to hate it.”

“I wonder why. . .” Asher smiled, infuriating Josh further.
