Jason watched as she passed through the lobby of the building, innocently making her way...

I never liked any type of holiday- Christmas, Easter, Father's Day- but the only exception was Mother's Day. It made even more special for me to appreciate and spoil my mom for everything she's done for even though she's been suffering through her illness. She's a trooper, god she's so fucking amazing. Maybe my folly is that I don't show her every day that I appreciate everything she does for me.
It does piss me off that she has to be in the hospital this day but I'll have to do my best to make her feel great day. Mother's Day just reminds me of how many amazing women I have in my life.
My mother of course.
Minx and Maven. I've known them for years and even though they piss the shit out of me half the time I really do love them. They have helped me through a bunch of stuff.
Hadley. I haven't known her for long but her heart is made of gold. She's amazing, she knows exactly what to say.
And lastly, Wonder. She's helped me through things just from being there. She's doesn't know how much she's doing for me. She makes me feel things I never knew hiow to feel. Just the sight of her makes my heart swell, I honestly don't know what I'd do without her.
I called Hadley out to help my find a gift for the both of them- my mom and Wonder. Even though I want to show my appreciation I'm shit at gifts.
But if you have Hadley, you have Levi.
They are practically attached by the hip.
Hadley looks at me, "So do you have any idea about what you want to get them?" She asks me as she slips her hand into Levi's.
I shake my head, "No clue. My mom likes wigs and cooking but she already has a ton of wigs." I frown.
"Maybe we could buy her a whole new outfit wig and all. Just something make her feel special. I know hospital clothes are not the most flattering. " Hadley offers.
I smile, "That's a great idea." I pause, "What about Wonder?"
Levi and Hadley grin at me making me roll my eyes. "Oooo Wonder." They say in a sing song voice.
"Oh get hit by a truck." I fire back at my hem making Hadley giggle.
Levi speaks, "Get her something that will mean a lot to her." He grabs Hadley's hand shows me her promise ring. "I got Hadd a promise ring."
I try to think back to something that would mean a lot to Wonder.
Wonder sits on my bed with her hair cascading down her back. She smiles at me as she takes off her sweater, because the room was getting hot. As she pulls it off her body I catch sight of a tattoo.
It was a small butterfly flying delicately.
I shuffle towards her and let me hand trace the tattoo. "When did you get this?" I ask softly.
She lets a ghost smile fall on my lips, "I got it when I got emancipated. I feel like butterflies are free and gentle. They flow with the wind. My life goal is just to be free, I don't ever want to be trapped." She explains to me.
"Do you feel trapped when your with me?"
She whispers softly letting her mouth float just above my ear. "I actually don't" Then she crashes her lips on my mine softly.
I snap out of my daze, "I think I know what I want to get her." We first visit and store that smelled wigs. I looked at all the wigs on the wall trying to find the perfect on for her.
Levi picks up a short sparkly yellow one. Hadley's eyes widen, "Take that shit off." She curses.
I crack a grin as Levi laughs, "It's that bad? What'd you think Jase?" He asks me. The wig is absolutely ugly, I pull it off his head and put it on mine.
I say, "It'll look better on me." I joke.
Hadley laughs and picks up another wig. It was brown with curls at the end. "I'm sure she'll like this one. Oh and I saw the perfect outfit to go with it!" She cheers enthusiastically.
I agree with her, after we pay we venture into another store and buy the outfit Hadley was talking about. As we are leaving the store my eye catches a glimpse of a butterfly.
Wonder
I walk over to the glass cabinet and look down at the butterfly neck lace. It was small and delicate with diamonds running through it. It was perfect for her.

Has Has I ask the lady to take it out the case because I'm buying it. After she thanks me for making my purchase I leave with Hadley and Levi. "Thanks guys for helping me out." I tell them.
Hadley smiles, "Any time. I really like your mom, and I can see that Wonder us going to bring light into your life. Don't fuck it up with her." I suppress a laugh.
I really hope I don't mess it up with her. From the beginning I've been drawn to Wonder and honestly it didn't take that long for me to be with her. Wonder's special, she doesn't have to try to hard she can just be herself and that would be enough.
More than enough.
As we are walking out the mall my phone starts to buzz. Wonder's timid voices comes through the phone, " Where are you? I came to visit you and you weren't home. So, I don't know, I felt a bit uneasy." She says in a rush.
"Hey Wonder. I'm at the mall." I smile.
Hadley looks at me and squeals." Jason pass me the phone!"
I jerk away from her and continue to talk to Wonder." Who was that?" Her voice got quiet.
"Oh that was just my friend. I'm gonna be home soon you want to hang out then?" I'm eager to see her.
The line goes quiet from a second." Um no actually I'll talk to you later." She hangs up the phone quickly leaving me confused. Her attitude changed so quickly.
