malia's pov
"see you guys soon," my dad smiled as he waved goodbye. 
"bye dad," i sent him a smile. 
my mom waved and she held onto my shoulder as my dad walked away. 
"this weekend was so much fun," i sigh. 
"it was. a lot," my mom nodded her head. 
we walked out of the airport and towards my mom's car. 
"since we won't have time to make it back home and you to get your car, can i drop you off and you can ask daniela for a ride home today?" my mom asked me as she opened the car. 
i nodded my head, "yeah sure."
the ride back to the school was fifty minutes and it was just the perfect time to arrive at school. 
i grabbed my backpack from the back and walked up to the driver's window. 
"goodbye mom," i smiled. 
"have a good day," she kissed my forehead. 
i backed away as she drove away to work. 
i sigh deeply as i thought about how amazing the weekend was. 
spending time with my whole family was amazing. 
i couldn't ask for anything more. 
i walked towards daniela's locker and she seemed like she was waiting for me with thomas. 
"hey bitch," she smirked once i got close. 
"heyy," i smiled. 
"did your dad leave today?" she asked. 
i nodded my head, "unfortunately, yeah."
"did you guys have fun?" thomas butted in. 
i let out a huff of air, "a lot of fun."
"that's good," thomas smiled. 
i feel happy. 
happier than usual.

"hey i have a present for you," grayson said, catching my full attention. 
my eyebrows furrowed, "what?"
he grabbed my arm and led me to a more less crowded place since it was passing period. 
"so you know how your dad said you love jewelry?" he asked as he reached his hand into his pockets. 
i nodded my head, "yeah."
"well..." he said slowly as he pulled out a box. 
i gulped nervously, not knowing what to expect. 
he opened the box facing towards me, "i figured that one piece of jewelry you were missing was a ring so i got you a ring."
my mouth dropped at the beauty of the ring. 
it's so shiny, so pretty, so unique. 
"wait why?" i asked in confusion. 
"because i want to do something nice since i haven't done much for you. plus, it's not just any ring. it's a promise ring," he said as he grabbed the ring out of the box and grabbed my hand with his other hand. 
"grayson.. it's so pretty," i said as he put the ring in my middle finger. 
"here's mine," he pulled out his ring after he put on mine.
