Yoongi peaked into the living room. Jimin was still fast asleep on the couch. The blanket he once had on him had fallen to the floor. The boy's eyes were shut peaceful while his mouth was agape and small drops of sweat on his forehead.Yoongi had to mentally pull himself away from staring at Jimin. He walked back to the kitchen to finish cooking the chicken noodle soup for dinner. Just as he finished chopping carrots and was beginning to put them into the pot, a knock rang from the door.
The elder heard Jimin stir in his sleep, a small whine escaping his lips. Yoongi dropped the chopping board into the counter and ran towards the door.
The door swung open to reveal Jin with arm fulls of bags. "Here you go!" He exclaimed.
This caused Yoongi to immediately put his index to his lips in order to shush his hyung. He grabbed the bags from Jin before stepping outside and closing the door.
"Thank you, Jin. I would of had Hoseok get them but he wouldn't pick up. How much do I owe you?"
Yes, Yoongi had sent Jin to the grocery store. He wanted to make Jimin a good dinner that would aid in his sore throat, but they didn't have the right ingredients. He also did not want to leave Jimin alone while sick, so he had no choice but to ask for help.
Jin shook his head, lifting his hand. "No, no! It's okay. Just make Jimin a good dinner so he'll feel better."
"You sure? I can go grab my wallet..." Yoongi offered.
"No! It's okay!" Jin smiled before taking off and running to his car and driving off without another word or gesture.
Yoongi quickly went back inside and to the kitchen where he began unpacking the groceries. It was probably a good thing that he sent Jin instead of Hoseok, because he's pretty sure that Hoseok had no idea how to make chicken noodle soup while Jin knew everything about it.
After boiling the noodles and adding the chicken broth, Yoongi added the rest of the prepped ingredients such as celery, chicken, some potatoes and a little bit of onion.
Yoongi was so engrossed in cooking his sick baby's meal, that he didn't even hear the Little enter.
"Da-Daddy..." Jimin's voice was hoarse as he coughed.
Yoongi set the spoon he was using to stir with down and turned towards the other. Jimin had taken the blanket off the floor and draped it over his shoulders, his fists clinging onto it tightly.
"Hey, baby. How are you feeling?" Yoongi's voice was soft and caring. He lead Jimin to a chair so the boy could sit before he took his hand to Jimin's forehead, testing the temperature. "My baby still has a fever." He pouts.
"H-hurt 'oo ta'k" Jimin sank into his seat. "W-Wha makin'?"
"Chicken noodle soup. It'll help with your throat." Yoongi explained whilst gathering some soup into Jimin's favorite Bubble Guppies bowl. He sets the hot soup in front of the little and hands the boy a plastic, rubber spoon.
Two minutes had passed and Jimin still hadn't touched his soup.
Yoongi looked up from his bowl to acknowledge the other.
"You haven't touched your dinner. What's wrong, darling? Do you not like it?"
Jimin shakes his head. No words are said as the little slides into the seat next to his daddy. Even though he's shy, he pushes his spoon towards Yoongi.
"Oh, do you want daddy to feed you?" Yoongi asked and received an immediate nod followed by Jimin opening his mouth.
Yoongi scooped up some soup with Jimin's spoon and blew on it to make sure it wasn't piping hot before he held it up to the little's mouth.
The younger moved closer so he could take the spoon into his mouth. As he swallowed, his face twisted into an expression of disgust and pain.
He pointed to his throat and pouted. Yoongi tried again, offering Jimin another sip which Jimin hesitantly took. Again, his face showed of pain. His throat hurt with every swallow and every movement.
"My poor baby." Yoongi frowned as he watched Jimin in pain with tears brimming his eyes.
"I know you may not want to, but if you eat this whole bowl, daddy will give Minnie a popsicle. Can you do that?"
Jimin nodded and opened his mouth for more. He didn't mean to act as if the soup wasn't good, in fact, it was delicious...his throat just hurt way too much to enjoy something so savory.
He swallowed spoonful after spoonful. He grimaced all the way till he swallowed the last spoonful.
"Pop, pop, pop?" The little tugged at Yoongi's sleeve while the elder put their dishes away.
Yoongi went to the freezer and pulled out a spongebob popsicle. Jimin's eyes lit up at the sight of one of his favorite special treats. He took the treat with greedy hands and made his way to the living room to eat it.
"Let's make sure you don't make a mess." Yoongi laughed as he took a dish towel and laid it on Jimin's chest and under his chin.
The coldness of the frozen treat aided Jimin's throat. Once done with the popsicle, Yoongi gave Jimin a quick bath before tucking him into bed.
As much as Yoongi did not want to get sick, his baby begged him to stay.
"Feel better, baby. Daddy loves you so much." Yoongi whispered before planting a soft kiss to Jimin's forehead.
