"Klaus, what do you want?"

He walked out of the shadows, and over to stand beside her, leaning over the rails.

"I could see you from down on the street. Try not to make it obvious that you're so thirsty. I brought you something to ease the pain."

He handed her a coffee cup.

"Type O-Negative. My favorite. But how would you know that? You haven't seen me since I turned."

She said in a matter of fact tone, although she wasn't at all surprised that he knew. Nothing about him surprised her. Not anymore. He was just too predictable.

"I have my ways. Not everyone here follows Marcel blindly."

"Klaus, what do you want? And be quick, before I call my cavalry."

"Oh, right. I forgot. Queen. How's that going by the way."

"Klaus?"

"Alright, Alright. You win. I want to see my daughter, but until I know my... our son, is safe, I can't leave you with him."

"No, Klaus. No deals. I want to meet my son! No games!"

"I can't do that. Not yet."

"Then get out. Klaus, just go."

"Lish."

"No! Get out!"

Slowly, he backed away, and jumped over the side, walking off into the crowd.

"It's a good thing no one saw him do that. People might start asking questions."

Alisha drank the rest of her blood, and turned around to see Marcel standing there.

"You saw him, yet you did nothing."

"I have a feeling you can take care of yourself. Besides, you made it clear to him that if there was a problem, you'd call in reinforcements. You're good."

"Thanks."

"Why are you up?"

"Couldn't sleep. Im from a smaller town, and it's quiet. Not loud like this. It sounds like a constant parade out here. And I wanted some air."

"Do you want a different room? One not so close to this street? This house covers a whole block. So, I can get you a quieter room."

"No, it's fine. I need to get used to it. Besides, I like seeing humans. They're a good reminder to enjoy life while you can. Life is supposed to be short. You never know when some witches are going to curse you to bear the child of a monster, in order to kill it, to kill the monster and while giving birth die in the process, becoming a vampire."

"Ya, I suppose that doesn't happen everyday. I don't think there's a class for that. But if you need a therapist, I know of a good one."

"Thanks for the advice. I'll take it into account."

Alisha turned around, and gave Marcel a hug.

"Thanks for the talk. I think I'll go to bed now. See you in the morning."

"Ok. Sleep well. How is the bed treating you, by the way. I haven't asked yet. Are you enjoying it? Is it comfortable enough?"

She thought for a second, then smiled.

"It's fit for a Queen. Thank you Marcel. For everything."

And she went to bed.

After checking on her, to make sure she was in fact, in bed he decided to go for a walk. To see the city and what did he see on his walk, but none other than the reason he wanted to go for a walk in the first place.

Klaus

Marcel saw him at the head of bourbon street, and followed him for about two blocks.

He watched him, as he headed into Rousseau's bar. While peeking into the bar from the window, he saw something he didn't expect.

Camille. His friend that was also studying psychology. The one he told Alisha about.

They were sitting together, in a booth and he could hear them.

"I'm sorry about you're fiance. Let me make it up to you. Can I buy you a drink?"

"Thank you Camille, it has been a hard time for Sebastian and I both. As he has never even met his mother."

"I heard. You said she died in child birth?"

"Yes. Yes she did."

He took Camille's hand and held it.

"I've had some time to adjust. Thank you for the drink, but I have to get home to my son. Things have been rather hard for him as well."

Marcel had heard enough. He left the window, and walked back home. He couldn't wait to tell Alisha what he found out.
