Me and ashfur have been friends since we were kits, but I have always liked him but he never liked me. I followed him everywhere, we slept beside eachother but he was always into squirrelflight. It always pained me to see them so I slowly stopped hanging out with him, he never even noticed. I would see him being happy and I would be sad, but now that squirrelflight rejected him he needs a lot of help. I would sit with him in the rain and curl around him when he was cold or sad but he would always shoulder me off. 
Reader pov
"Ashfur?" I said weaving my way between the trees, "ashfur?!?" I said louder, "I'm right here" he finally replied. I padded over to him, he was sitting near a river alone, I sat down next to him laying my tail over his. "(w/n)?" he asked, "yeah?" I replied "why do you try and give me love all the time? I'm the least worthy person... you should be mates with someone, anyone better than me." He said sadly, "ashfur is that really what you think? I spend time with you because you are sweet, funny, handsome, cute, and overall the most attractive cat in our clan! I would die to be your mate" I said. "...really?" He asked "really."I replied lovingly, "(w/n) would you please be my mate?" He asked hope sparkling in his eyes "of course" I replied nuzzling him.

(After fire and stuff) 
It has been 6 moons since me and ashfur had become mates, he loves me and I love him but recently he has been acting strange. "Hey ashfur, what's wrong?" I asked "n-nothing" he replied nervously he was obviously hiding something but I didn't want do pressure him "alright..." I said unsure of his reply. The next few days he was getting more and aggressive towards everyone, I also noticed hollyleaf, lionblaze, and squirrelflight watching him unsurely like he knows something. It was the night of the full moon and i wasn't going to the meeting, I sat in my nest watching the young kits run around. By the time they got back I was asleep but in the morning I woke to bad news and gossip "ashfur was murdered by hollyleaf" "squirrelflight is a very good sister to have kept that secret for so long"  "hollyleaf is dead" "how will (w/n) take it" the words spiraled around my head trying to make me understand, i saw ashfur laying dead on the floor and cried out in pain. my best friend (R/w/n) came over and payed next to me, "(r/w/n) what happened last night?" I asked "you didn't hear? Ashfur is dead and so is hollyleaf. Also squirrelflight isn't the mother of lionblaze, jayfeather, and hollyleaf" she told me, shock consumed me, I payed on the floor and cried. For the rest of the day we all mourned for the death of ashfur and hollyleaf soon it was time to burry him, i found a spot and we placed him inside. I dropped a daisy inside the grave and we buried him, jayfeather made a speech and everyone went back to the camp. I stayed at his grave the rest of the day and night and in the morning I went back to camp, I layed in me and ashfur's nest and felt lonely. I felt empty and alone in the world I slowly grew apart from everyone in the clan and now had no friends, I felt like an outsider and like I should just leave. That night I snuck out and went just out of clan territory, I knew that there were foxes and so there would be a risk but I had to get away. I padded through the forest a low growl sounding in the distance but I ignored it, I made it to my destination. the twoleg place. I padded to a house and meowed helplessly, an old woman came to the door and scooped me up. "Aww, what a cute kitty! Where are your owners?" She asked, I mewed and nuzzled her hand.

It has been a long time since I left the camp and now I am an old cat, I am very close to death and I can feel it. One night I was fine and the next morning I was feeling like death itself, i knew it was time for me to go. As the light faded from my eyes I saw ashfur with me, standing beside me telling me it's time. I was soon rejoined with ashfur and everything was better.
