"We need a break." Astrid muttered as she and Ash finished sharpening the weapons from their weapons shed. "A nice long one, one without a day where we have to fight Viggo and those hunters and dangerous dragons."

"But we can't leave, we have to clean the stables." Ash groaned as she started putting the swords back into their barrel. "And do some patrolling afterwards, and fix the huts before an upcoming rain storm comes in, no time for a break."

"The twins are already fixing the roof of the huts, Fishlegs is cleaning the stables and both Snotlout and Heather are on patrol, and Hiccup is doing gods know what." Astrid replied, ticking each task off her fingers. "Let's just put these away and go see what else Hiccup needs us to do."

Once they finished putting the weapons away, the two mounted Stormfly and Storm before flying off towards Hiccup's hut to find him outside in his little forge with Toothless. The dragon perked up at the sound of his friends landing and scrambled over to give Storm a playful nip on the shoulder and gently nudged Stormfly as their riders dismounted.

"Hiccup, we need a break." Astrid announced as she approached him.

"Well you're both free to take a break, you've been sharpening weapons all morning." Hiccup said gesturing to their hands.

"My hands are so sore I couldn't even hold onto Storm's saddle properly." Ash groaned as she flexed her hands and winced. "I'm gonna head to Fishlegs to ask for some herbs to soak these hands in."

"Of course, your princessy hands need to harden to strangle the Grimborns." Hiccup joked.

"If my hands weren't aching I would have slapped you." Ash muttered as she walked off.

As she was heading towards her own hut, Ash caught sight of the twins clamoring down from her roof. She heard them both arguing, but when she got close they got quiet.

"Okay, something tells me that you were arguing about something involving me." She stated and Ruffnut shot her brother a look.

"Tuffnut here says that anyone with Stark blood can tame any wild wolf they come across." She said folding her arms over her chest. "But I keep telling him that it's not true, and your dad said that you guys warg into wolves."

"No, it's just the direwolves they tame." Tuffnut retorted with a frown. "Don't you remember what he said? He and his cousin Arya were able to see through the eyes of their direwolves while Arya's brother Bran was able to warg into other things aside from his wolf. Ash however, being only a quarter Stark, can't do it. But because she has more than three quarters of Targaryen blood in her, she can easily bond with dragons and resist their fire."

"Guys, I nearly burned my hands grabbing that Monstrous Nightmare welp out of the fire that Snotlout accidentally dropped it in when it was trying to hatch." Ash pointed out. "And as for warging, I have never done that before."

"But wouldn't it be cool if you were able to do it?" Tuffnut asked, his upset demeanor changing to a more excited one. "You could easily spy on people! It would be so easy to see what Viggo was planning!"

"Yes there is that, but if I happened to be alone and Viggo found out about this, he would attempt to kill me and leave me trapped in whatever I was using to spy on him." Both the twins excited faces immediately changed and Ash had to hold back a laugh. "But hey, that would be fun. If I've never tried it, I should at least attempt it once."

"Weeeell, let's not tell Hiccup, because then he'd try to ban you from doing it." Ruffnut said lowering her voice.

"Yeah, because it's no fun." Her twin added with a nod.

"I'll keep in mind to not tell him." Ash assured them before heading towards the entrance of her hut. "But I'll let you two know if I did or did not manage to do anything."

'How the seven bloody hells do I even do it?' Ash wondered to hers as she laid on her bed that night. 'How did dad do it? How did Arya or even Bran do it? Bran was just a teenager and he became the Three Eyed Raven!'

She scolded herself for comparing herself to one of her own father's cousins. Bran had apparently been destined to have that sort of power and the fall just woken it. Her father did it in his sleep with his old direwolf Ghost, as did Arya and she had see through the eyes of a cat and her direwolf. Ash was beginning to wonder if she could only do this if she were a true Stark or owned a direwolf.

'Perhaps I can do this, but maybe with my own dragons?' The thought was peculiar, but made a lot more sense. She had a strong bond with her dragons, her father said that bond she shared with Elin was as strong as the one he had with Ghost.

Deciding to give it a try, Ash closed her eyes and tried to concentrate. Her mind focused on Elin but nothing seemed to be working. She tried again, trying Val, Storm, Sweet Song and even some of the other dragons, but all she saw was darkness. She opened her eyes and sighed in disappointment. Guess she wasn't that much of a Stark as she thought. She curled up, hugging some of the furs to her chest and closed her eyes before letting herself drift off to sleep.

Ash felt warmth close to her and heard the soft whine of something before a warm tongue began to gently caress her cheek. She heard a small bark and felt another warm body wiggling next to her. It was too dark for her to even see where she was but she somehow knew who was near her. She pressed herself against the warm creature in front of her and gave a little whine before the warm tongue licked her softly again.

Just then, a loud howl broke the silence earing a startled squeal from whatever was next to her and Ash started to squeal in alarm. The large warm body she was pressed up against had moved, causing her and the other occupants of wherever she was to cry and whine loudly. When they had somewhat settled down, Ash tried to move. Dirt, there was dirt under her paws, and a small sliver of white light she hadn't seen before was close by. She edged close to it before realizing it was some sort of opening before-

"ASH!"

Ash's eyes snapped open and sat up. Her heart was pounding wildly in her chest and turned to see the twins and Snotlout standing around her bed, their eyes wide in alarm and concern.

"What happened?" She asked quietly and Snotlout pressed his lips in a thin line while Ruffnut frowned.

"Your eyes...they..." Tuffnut tried to explain before Snotlout interjected: "They were white and we all panicked thinking you were dead or possessed. Tuffnut tried shaking you awake and Ruffnut wanted to dump a bucket of ice cold water on you but we didn't want to accidentally have you get sick on us and die."

"Guys...I think I warged."

"Into what?!" The twins hissed as Snotlout looked to them in confusion.

"I don't know but...it was somewhere dark and I was surrounded by warmth, like maybe I was in a den surrounded by other warm creatures. Probably a bear or...a wolf." Ash answered and the twins cheered. "And I think I was a baby too."

"Well its a start!" Tuffnut pointed out cheerfully before he pulled a serious face and glared at Snotlout. "You are not to tattle to Hiccup about this."

"Am I suppose to?"

"No! We are not telling anyone else about this until Ash gets the hang of this. That is, if she wants to." Ruffnut retorted and turned to her friend. "Is that okay?"

"I...I don't even know, this happened in my sleep. But I think if I see my uncle I'd have to ask him about this warg business." Ash replied with a shrug. "But in the meantime, no telling anyone about this."

"Our lips are zipped."
