It seemed like hours since we've been in this warehouse fighting Gray. None of us could see outside since all the windows were covered up and we haven't put our earpieces back to talk to the other girls. We were all tired and exhausted from fighting. Various cuts littered our faces with bruises all over our bodies.

Everyone, that is, except Gray.

"You know it's only been five minutes, right?" she quipped.

Shit.

Dinah, who took the most beatings of all, grumbled and cursed under her breath as she stood up. Blood was dripping from a cut on her eyebrow and busted lip. She's been charging at Gray since the beginning, putting brute force in every swing of her fist. But Gray seemed to read them all as she effortlessly dodged each one.

However, the most jarring of all was the way she dodged even Normani's swings when she was running at her at full speed. Gray just grinned at us but I knew Normani was angry—more at herself than anyone. No one should be able to see her let alone stop her.

And yet it seemed like Gray, with her mysterious ability, could counter everything we threw at her.

"Graaah!" Dinah shouted in a fit of fury. She ran straight for Gray and threw her fist back. This time for sure, I thought, the punch would land. After all, she had her back to Dinah and it was impossible for her to react in time.

I was wrong.

Dinah's fist went straight for the back of Gray's head but she quickly ducked down as Dinah's fist cut through the air. "You never learn," she said, before kicking Dinah's back so she tumbled and rolled on the floor for a few feet.

"Dinah!" Normani called out. She grit her teeth and ran towards Gray. I decided to coordinate the attack and followed Normani. With steel pipe in hand, I was confident Gray wouldn't be able to stop us both if we attacked at the same time.

But once again, she proved me wrong.

Gray reached out, seemingly to grab air, but the moment she closed her hand, it grabbed Normani's wrist. "What the—" was all she could say before Gray kicked her stomach, sending her flying towards the wall.

I swung the pipe straight for her head when she shot out her hand and grabbed the other end. My heart dropped as a smirk slowly formed on her lips. She then tugged the steel pipe away from me and bashed it against the side of my head.

"Argh! Fuck!" I cried out as my head spun and I collapsed on the ground. My chest was heaving as I writhed in pain, rolling on the ground and holding my head. "Graaah!" I yelled, tears falling from my eyes.

"Man, that felt good!" she exclaimed.

I felt something dripping down the side of my face and knew I was bleeding. I looked up and saw all three of us writhing in pain. It should've been easy and yet, here we were overwhelmed by the amount of power one person delivered.

Gray kicked my shoulder so I was laying on the ground, watching her towering over me. "You know why you lost? Because you're weak." She looked at the other two. "You're all weak." She crouched beside me and shook her head. "It's because you fight to live. And I... fight to kill."

She grabbed a fistful of my hair and bore me. Then she placed a quick punch to my gut and pushed back on the ground.

At first the ringing was in my head, maybe because of the amount of blood I lost. But when Gray pulled out a phone from her pocket, I thought otherwise.

"Hello? Yeah, I'm still here." I knew we lost but I still strained to hear their conversation. Maybe something in there would clue me in to something that would make us win the next time.
