Last night I saw America dance with Celeste. I had my eyes on her without even knowing I was watching. Her red hair and that dress she was wearing. The dark blue color is in good contrast to her eyes. I was starting to picture her as my wife. I shook my head. I swore that I wouldn't leave Kriss. I might have to follow through with father's terrible idea after all.

Last night I danced with America and I felt a connection with her. It took me back to the Halloween party. She was mad at me that night for not dancing with her until the very last. I remember thinking that we would have eternity together.

The truth is I had let anger get the best of me, I convinced myself that I loved Kriss. I Love her, but I love America more. I want to have children with her, see our faces in our children. I breathed in and out. I don't know what to do. If I tell father, he will say 'I told you so'.

I wanted to clear my though and I went to the garden. This time America wasn't there. It was quiet and I breathed in the smell of flowers. I went over to the white roses and picked some for my mother. My mother loves flowers, and I have gotten her white roses since I was a little boy. I went back inside when it started to rain. I smiled. If America was mine, we would have danced in the rain.

"Mom, I picked some flowers for you." I said when I reached her office. Father was sitting with her with budgets and plans for war. He never decided anything without talking to my mom about it.

"Thank you darling," Mom said and took them and smelled them. Father looked annoyed with me. I busted in and interrupted their conversation.

"Dad, can I speak with you?" I asked. I felt my heart beat faster and my palms were sweating.

"What can be so important that you couldn't knock, and interrupt our conversation?" father said clearly annoyed. He followed me anyways leaving mom alone.

"Now tell me." Father demanded. I felt my sweaty hands shake.

"I want to marry America." I almost whispered. I slowly lifted my head and met father's eyes. They weren't cold, they weren't happy. I couldn't read his emotions. Then he smiled and hugged me, and took me by surprise. Father wasn't a person who showed a lot of affection. Most children would see their parents kiss, or hug or hold hands. When I grew up I would see them kiss maybe once or twice.

"That's great son, I knew you would do the right thing." He said and looked at me proudly. "What made you change your mind?" How do I answer this?

"Well last night I danced with her, and I remembered the night of the Halloween party. I felt a connection and I realized I had let anger take over, and I made the wrong choice." I said. Father looked disappointed. He must have thought it was his little speech that had intimidated me.

"Good then, convince her. She told me last night she would say yes if you ask her, not me." He said and went back to mom. I went back to my office down the hall. Did America tell my father she would marry me, if I asked for her hand? I made that an important thing on my to do list.

I planned out my proposal in my head, but Kriss was still in the picture. I love America, but I love Kriss as well. Its not the same of course, but I don't want to hurt Kriss. Father probably could tell her, but she should hear it from me. I must do it soon and I need to speak with America.

I decided to go down to America. She is probably the hardest to convince. She is in a happy relationship and I feel so guilty for breaking their relationship. I went to Americas room and hesitated to knock. How will she react? Will she marry me?

"America," I called and opened the door to her room. I looked in and she was crying on the floor. I rush over not waiting for an answer. She was sobbing with her face in her dress. She didn't see me coming towards her

"America? Are you okay?" I kneeled and took her hands in mine. She was still sobbing.

"I'm Fine, Just so happy." She said and smiled. I relaxed and sat down beside her.

"Do you want to explain?" I asked.

"I'm getting married" America cheered and I dropped my jaw. She is getting married.

"With who?" I asked with the voice I had left.

"Anthony idiot." She laughed and gave me a friendly pad on my shoulder. So her relationship with him is very serious. I wanted to cry.

"Was there something you wanted?" She asked and wiped a tear away from her tear.

"No I just wanted to make sure you were okay. I heard you sobbing." I said and hurried out of her room. I want to jump of a cliff right now.
