Chapter 12

Anabelle's (POV):

I woke up the next morning to Mandy singing some song at the top of her lungs while jumping on my bed. Groaning I sit up to hear a knocking on the door. Look what you did Mandy I playfully scolded while tickling her. I picked up a giggling Mandy and carried her to the door. Not even having a chance to check what I was wearing. Sighing I opened the door to see a young girl that looks to be about my age. I invited her in nicely. She agreed and we walked to the living room.

From a good half hour of chatting I found out her name was Isabelle. Also that she lives right across the hall. I found out that you need to earn money with a job. But I couldn't leave Mandy all by herself. She was only five years old, what person would do that. That's when Isabelle offered to watch Mandy while I go search for a job. A wave of relief flooded over me, so I thanked her.

I told her that I would bring Mandy over after lunch and we said our goodbyes. Right as I shut the door Mandy ran off into the kitchen singing it's time for lunch from the bubble guppy's show that she was just watching. Laughing to myself I followed her and told her to go and change her clothes. She ran off to her room still singing.

Smiling to myself I walk over to the fridge to pull the carton of eggs I bought last night out of the fridge. Picking a pan out of the cabinet I placed it on the stove that I previously turned on. I was about to crack the egg on the counter to be attacked by a now dressed Mandy. Grumbling incoherent words I picked up the broken shell that was now on the floor throwing it into the trash.

So Mandy what job should your big sis get? Huh? I asked. She smiled and said that I should work at food place. I laugh and see her bright eyes witch makes me sad. Just knowing that she was abandoned by her own parents hurts. Honestly it reminds me about myself when my mom abandoned me. She was a human mated to a werewolf. She was tired of being tied down to a man and when she wasn't allowed to leave, she left on her own terms. I remember that she said goodbye, but since I was five I didn't understand.

I quickly turned my head so Mandy wouldn't see me cry. Pulling myself together I put the eggs on a plate and grab two forks. Setting it on the table Mandy grabs a fork from me and starts to dig in. So Mandy what are we going to have for dinner? I asked. She acted like she was thinking and then burst out full of joy saying burger! Burger! I laughed and told her I would get burgers before I came back. She smiled and we just ate our breakfast in silence.

We spent two hours watching her cute morning shows. Before I walked her across the hallway to Isabelle's apartment. I was about to knock on the door when Mandy starts to pound away at the door. Swiftly picking her up before she breaks it, I hear the door open. Looking up I am greeted by a tall blonde woman that looks to be about thirty five.

I freak because I'm afraid to know if I got the wrong door. But she warmly greets us by saying, "you must me Ana and Mandy". I calmed down and found out that this was Isabelle's mother. I dropped Mandy off and said goodbye. I left and walked down the hallway to an elevator. I heard the ding signaling that it had arrived.

Before I could even go in, I was knocked over by a person exiting the elevator. I was scared because I felt warm sparks erupt through my body. I didn't want to look up afraid of what I would see. When I did look up though I was amazed to see beautiful forest green eyes that were just so damn mesmerizing. All I could do was gasp in surprise.

A new world can either be better or worse than your old one. One only hopes it will be better but will always be frightened by the outcome.
