"So, Scott, I met this really nice man the other day. I was at Kathy's yesterday and her son came waltzing in, very handsome by the way, and Kathy and I think y'all would be perfect together. When would you be able to take him out?" Mitch fought a smile as Scott's mom attempted to marry him off. A chuckle escaped when he glanced over at Scott's face of panic and brought a forkful of spaghetti to his mouth, loving the entertainment.

"I don't know, Mom. Pentatonix is really busy right now. I don't have that much time off for Christmas." Scott shot looks of 'help me' to Mitch and he slurped a noodle in reply.

"Oh, don't worry! It will only be one date." Connie insisted

"Um... I can't." Mitch glanced between Scott and his mom.

"Why?" Connie put her fork down and frowned at Scott.

"I'm... uh... Not single?" It came out as more of a question than a reply but he went with it.

"Is that right? Well, what his name? what does he do?" Scott met Mitch's eyes and cringed. Mitch tilted his head to the side and he squinted his eyes in question.

"He sings." Scott mouthed "Sorry" to Mitch and Scott's plan become clear. He shot daggers out his eyes back at Scott in return for this terrible, horrible idea.

"That's nice, What is his name?" Scott sighed heavily, hoping and praying that Mitch would go along with him just this once.

"Um... His name is Mitch." Everyone at the table stopped moving and stared at Scott.

"Oh! That is funny! He has the same name as Mitch!" Connie laughed, but everyone else looked between the two boys skeptically.

"I mean, you aren't wrong, technically, but I mean Mitch, Mitch. Like sitting right next to me Mitch." Scott refused to look at the small angry man next to him but could feel a hole burning into the side of his head.

"Wait. Tell me you aren't joking." Connie's seriousness caused everyone to look at her. "You guys are actually together?" Her eyes filled with tears and she stood up and rounded the table squishing the two boys into a weird hug. "I can't believe it! Nel and I have been waiting forever! Oh, goodness does she even know? I have to go call her!" Connie ran from the room to grab her phone.

"Scott? Can I talk to you outside for a second?" Scott finally looked at Mitch, who was eerily calm.

"Sure. Dad, Linds, Lauren, Mitch and I will just be one second." He smiled a smile that was painful and stood, getting a pointed look from Mitch when he placed his hand on his lower back. As soon as the front door closed behind him he felt a smack to the arm.

"What the hell, Scott? Literally, what the fuck do you think you are doing?" Mitch smacked his chest this time. "You can't just go telling our families we are together! Go back in there and say it was a prank and just go on one stupid date for your mom!" Mitch started pacing. "Oh my, God!"

"Mitch, I can not go back in there and tell her it was a prank! Did you see the look on her face?" Scott crossed his arms.

"That is exactly why you have to tell her! We can't lead our poor mothers on like that!"

"Hey, it'll be fine. In like two weeks we'll call and say that it didn't work out. That we couldn't get over the sisters feeling or whatever bullshit. Everything will be fine." He stopped Mitch's pacing by grabbing his arms and tugging his against him and squeezing. "They are waiting for us inside. Please act like you like me? They will never believe it if you keep giving me that look."
