Beam's Dorm

"So you chickened out from giving your cell number and just ran away?" Kit asked with disbelief in his tone.

Beam suppresed his groan, burrying his face on his pillow. Willing the frustration to go away. Kit got up from where he was sitting when Beam's muffled screaming turned into sniffling.

Worried that his friend started to cry, Kit sat beside Beam and tried to pry his friend from the pillow.

"Hey, what's wrong?" Kit asked gently.

Beam lifted his face from his pillow and suddenly stood up on his bed to chucked his pillow on the ground, effectively surprising Kit. He heaved a long sigh and let out a scream.

"I, BEAM BARAMEE, SHALL NOT BE SWAYED AGAIN WITH THAT GUY'S PUPPY E...."

Before Beam could finish, Kit smacked his face with the pillow he just threw on floor.

"Aishhh!! I really thought that you were crying!!" Kit yelled as he wrestle Beam on the bed, "And it's late!! Why are you screaming?!!"

Beam couldn't reply as he was breathless when the wrestling turns into tickling instead. Beam squirmed as he giggle under Kit. After a minute, Kit flopped besides Beam trying to catch his breath.

"I need a brain-to-mouth filter..." Beam said as he huff after a moment of silence.

Kit giggled, "Beam, you needed that years ago and you just realized it now?"

Beam turned to Kit with an unamused expression. Kit only made a weird face as a response to Beam.

"No, seriously. I need to stop saying things I'd regret." Beam said.

"You never regret what you said about our Cell Biology proffesor though." Kit accused, laughing as he recall what happened.

"What?!! She's unmarried so I called her an old maid. What's wrong with that?" Beam defends himself.

"Yeah and it was hilarious when she gave you a different set of exam."  Kit hollered as he rolled and fell down from the bed.

"...and you never said you regret ever saying those things." Kit added as he got up from the floor.

Kit dusted himself and quickly returned to his friend, "...You never ever regretted all the things you've said in the past." Kit started softly, "What makes it different now?"

Beam shifted from where he was lying and was silent for a while. He took a deep breath for the nth time that night, trying to forget why he ran away earlier.

"I can hear you thinking, Beam. Better let it out from your system." Kit said with a hint of fondness on his tone.

"You always hear me squealing about Forth... and I know that he's a good guy..." Beam mumbled.

"He's a friend and....I work with him." Beam continued as he looked at Kit if he was paying attention.

"...just because I idolize him, I don't want to say something that might put him in a uncomfortable position." Beam sat up as he finished his sentence.

"Forth's a good friend, Beam and he's not going to be a jerk just because you have a crush on him." Kit said.

"I don't have a crush on him. I just think that he's cool." Beam denies and looked a little bit scandalized at Kit.
