Batman, Spider-Man and Rorschach stood atop of Wayne Tower, overlooking the military cleanup. Batman was back in his normal costume, but still rubbing his left hand.
"Most of the power rings have been found." Batman said to the other three. "And all of the surviving Yellow Lanterns are being transported to Red Sun."
"Not enough being done." Rorschach replied. "Killed thousands."
"Justice will be done." Batman turned to Rorschach. "But don't try and break in there and do things yourself, it won't end well for you."
"So, what do we do now?" Spider-Man asked, his chest wound healed immensely. "Just... go back to doing things normally?"
"Essentially." Batman replied. "Batgirl is going to continue her new identity- can't say I blame her. She held her own extremely well. Deathstroke vanished before I could restrain him- but I am going to find him. He's too dangerous to let slide. Luke Cage is thinking of going more public with his heroics. Castle's returning to London- if he'll continue what he's doing is anyone's guess. Nightwing's returning to Blüdhaven to recover from his wounds, then he'll go back to crime fighting. Simmons has gone back to New York to help out, and then he's going back to doing what he does best." He turned to the other two. "And you two?"
"Al Simmons is helping out in the relief of New York- he could use a helping hand. Might as well go and help, it's the least I can do." Parker replied.
"Going back to New York." Rorschach said, taking out his grapple gun. "Even after potential armageddon, still dirt there. Can't give it much time to breath." He walked to the edge of the building and turned back to Batman. "Noticed you aren't trying to restrain me, trying to take me in."
Batman sighed. "I realise now, even though we both use different methods, abide by different moral codes- we still have the same goal. To get rid of the crime that pollutes our cities." He paused. "I can let you go."
Rorschach nodded to him, and began climbing down the side of the building. Spider-Man turned to Batman.
"Y'know, it doesn't seem to long ago that we stood atop a looming skyscraper, overlooking a city that had just experienced an interstellar invasion, but still lived to tell the tale." Spidey looked at the city.
"A lot more people died this time." Batman said sadly. "And some of it's on me." Peter turned to Bruce.
"None of it's on you. Your actions led to the planet's survival, to Sinestro's defeat- sacrifices were made. But don't beat yourself up over it all. What choice did you have left?" Spider-Man responded with.
Batman let out a sad smile. "I guess maybe... you're right."
Spider-Man gave a curt nod back to his friend. "I'll see you around." He turned to go, but then stopped. He turned back to Wayne. "Yeah, you got anything I can...?" Batman pressed a button on his gauntlet, and the Tri-Wing rose to meet them.
"The autopilot is set to New York." He said, pressing a few buttons. "It'll return to me when you get there." Spider-Man nodded to him, and turned around to get inside the aircraft. He paused, and turned around to Batman. "I almost forgot- what are you going to do now, apart from find Wilson?" Parker asked.
"Crime in Gotham will still be here- and even with Barbara fighting it, I can't let up. I'll continue doing what I've been doing for years."
"And what about the team?"
If there's a matter that I think requires our attention, I'll let out a signal. Hopefully, I won't ever have to again."
"And what about a name?" Spidey asked. Under his cowl, Batman raised an eyebrow.
"A name?" He questioned.
"For the team. Don't tell me it hasn't crossed your mind."
"It hasn't crossed my mind."
"Right, huh. Well, I've got a few suggestions..."
"Like what?" Batman asked. "The Super Eight?"
"I was thinking less '80s Saturday-Morning-Cartoon and more modern-day blockbuster." He thought for a moment. "How about the Justice League?"
"We're not going with that." Batman looked at Spider-Man with a look of disappointment, almost.
"Well, if you say so..." Spider-Man replied. "See you around, Bruce."
He got inside the Tri-Wing, and it departed. Batman turned back to his city, let out a small smile, a jumped off the edge. The wind lapped by his face, flapping gently against his cape. He suddenly extended it, and began soaring over his city. He reached over and pressed a button on his gauntlet. He landed on the ground and flipped in the air, just as the Batmobile arrived. He jumped inside, and rocketed down the damaged streets.
