Chapter 53

                                    

                                          
It's 2:00 am on a school night, I'm laying in my bed staring at the clock worrying about my grades. I can't fall asleep, my worries keep me up. 
                          
If I fail this chemistry test, my grade could fall to an F. I can't fail chemistry, mom will be so mad. I usually have good grades. This year is different and I have no idea why but it sucks, the only thing I have that keeps me going is Connor. 
                          
I try to close my eyes and dream but it just doesn't work. No matter what I try my body can not fall asleep. Suddenly I hear a tapping sound at my window, I ignore it and cover my ears with my pillow. 
                          
Who would be tapping on my window at 2 in the morning? Oh wait... Connor.
                          
I turn on my lights and quickly run over to my window and see the outline of Connor, I can tell he's smiling. I unlock the window and he climbs into my room, kisses my cheek and sits on my bed. Another shape follows behind him, Zoe. Zoe climbs into my room and comes to sit next to Connor, I turn around and get ready to close the window but another shape comes in and it's Jared. Jared enters with his classic finger gun entrance. I look around at all of them confused.
                          
Why are you all in my room at 2:00 am on a school night? Most importantly, why is Jared here?
                          
Jared walks over to take a place on my bed and Zoe is the first one to speak.
                          
"Evan, we know both you and Connor haven't been doing the best lately so I thought we'd come and cheer you up a bit"
                          
"At 2 in the morning?" I reply and Zoe nods.
                          
"It's the only time Connor and I could get away from our parents, and Jared wanted to come along because he has nothing better to do at 2 in the morning"
                          
"What do you mean? Yes I do! I just came here cause I felt bad for our poor little Evan" Jared replies, punching me lightly in the side. 
                          
"We're gonna have a little fun Evan" Connor whispers and I giggle. 
                          
"LETS GET THIS PARTY STARTED" Jared yells.
                          
"Shhh Jared, we don't want to wake Evan's mom up" Zoe replies.
                          
"She actually has the night shift today so..." I say.
                          
"AH HELL YEAH PARTY IN EVAN HANSEN'S ROOM LETS GO" Jared yells again.
                          
Zoe sighs and goes looks through her bag that she brought over, she pulls out paint, nail polish, hair dye, other hair products, and a flower crown. 
                          
"Ooooh I call the hair dye, I want me hair to be cool as hell" Jared says. 
                          
I smile, I see Jared walk over to my half of the cast. He stares at it for a moment then looks back at me. 
                          
"Evan is this part of your cast? Where's the other half?" Jared asks, I smile at him.
                          
"Connor has it" I reply and Jared looks over at Connor and he nods.
                          
"Gosh you guys are so gay" Jared laughs. 
                          
"Shut up Jared" Connor replies and takes out some of Zoe's nail polish, he opens it and mentions for me to come over and sit by him. All of my old nail polish came off and Connor starts to apply new pink nail polish. I giggle and blush, Connor looks at me and giggles.
                          
"Ev you're so cute when you blush" he whispers into my ear and I blush even more. Connor finishes painting my nails and I softly kiss him, he smiles. Jared grabs some of Zoe's hair dye and tries to do it himself, Zoe just laughs at him.
                          
"Jared why don't you get a YouTube video to help you out?" Zoe asks.
                          
"Zoe I don't fucking have my phone, I lost it" Jared replies.
                          
Connor starts laughing really hard. "Wait wait wait you lost your phone? That's the dumbest fucking thing I ever heard" 
                          
Jared sighs. "Shut up Connor"
                          
"Just use my laptop for videos Jared" I reply and hand him my laptop. He opens it and starts watching a video, Zoe smiles and walks over to Connor and I.
                          
"While Jared is trying to figure out that should I braid Connor's hair again?"
                          
I smile and nod and Zoe grabs her hair supplies and starts braiding Connor's hair. Connor blushes a lot as I stare at him and giggle. 
                          
"FUCK" Jared yells, I look over and see that the hair dye exploded and got all over his face, clothes, and my bed. We all start laughing.
                          
"Good job Jared" Connor replies, Jared gives him the middle finger and tries to clean up the hair dye. Connor rolls his eyes.
                          
"Hey bathsexual, make sure there's more left for me to use on Evan" Connor giggles.
                          
"Oh I brought a ton of hair dye don't worry, I expected this to happen" Zoe replies, we all laugh, even Jared. I look at my bed and see that the hair dye got everywhere, I sigh. 
                          
"You're paying for a new comforter Jared" I giggle and Jared gives me the death glare.
                          
"Gosh Evan do you know how many times I've spilled shit on my bed? It'll be fine, plus it kinda matches a little" 
                          
I look over at my bed and nod.
                          
"I guess it does" I reply and Connor puts his arm over my shoulders and brings me closer "I love you Evan Hansen"
