"A party?!" My father exclaimed in displeasure.
"What do you mean you're going to a celebrity's party?!"
"Not just any celebrity father; it's Natsu Dragneel." I reasoned but father simply gave me a blank stare.
"I don't know Lucy. I don't like the idea of you going into a stranger's house."
I sighed, knowing that was how he would respond. "I know, but it's been a while since I've had any sort of fun. This could be my only chance!"
"Natsu Dragneel? But I thought you hated guy's like him. You know-The flirtatious jerk type?" Michelle said while bringing out dinner from the kitchen.
"He's not the type of guy I'm interested in, but I'm mostly this for Levy and maybe to have some fun myself. Besides, I haven't had a night with my friends in a long time so can I please go, father?" I pleaded, giving him the puppy dog eyes.
My father hesitated for a moment. "Well-I..."
"I think it's a wonderful idea." My mother interjected while taking a seat beside my father.
"Layla?!"
My mother chuckled and placed a hand on my father's. "Oh, come now Jude. Lucy has been working really hard, I think she deserves a night out."
After a few moments of silence, Jude let out a tired sigh and said, "Alright, you can go. But stay with Levy at all times, and don't talk to strangers."
"Oh, thank you, father!" I exclaimed with a smile.
"I could help you get ready for the party," Michelle offered.
"That reminds me, where am I going to get an outfit for the party? I'm not getting my next paycheck until the end of the month!"
My mother placed a comforting hand on my shoulder and said, "Let me handle that part, you have nothing to worry about Lucy."
"B-But mom..."
"No buts Lucy. Trust me, I have a few tricks up my sleeve."
I sighed, deciding not to argue with her. "Alright mom, if you say so."
After dinner, I quickly cleaned up the dishes and headed up to my room. I grabbed my phone and started texting Levy.
Lucy:
Hey, my parents agreed that I could go to the party. Isn't that amazing?!
Levy:
That's great Lucy! I can't wait to meet Natsu Dragneel in person, he's my favorite singer.
Lucy:
Yeah sure.😬
Levy:
Aww, come on Lulu. His music isn't that bad.
Lucy:
It's not that. I've just heard a lot of shady stuff about him!
