PEACEFUL NIGHT

As I climb into bed, John does as well on the other side of his king-sized bed. I turned so that my back is facing him and smile. I remember being like this when we were younger. He would come over and stay if his parents were arguing. Also when I had nightmares he would always be there. These good, pure memories caused the bad memories to float away. Soon enough I had fallen asleep.

I was playing in a field with my friends. John was also there next to me grinning with his childish side. He never changes! He ran towards the others in a game of tag but before I could run forwards, a hand grasps me from behind and I look to see his red gleaming eyes looking down on me. I scream, but nothing comes out. The world around me becomes dark and my heart races. I try wiggling out of his grasp but my body wouldn't move.

Suddenly, a bright white light shines in front of me and Freddy vanishes like blossom falling from a tree, into the light blue sky. The sun shines on me again and I see my old friend. The one that died. The one that left us and is left with the animatronics. I tried to think of his name, but it had left me. What was his name?

I wake up from my thoughts and slowly blink as I tried to get used to the sun light shining through the curtains. The calm end to my dream was weird. How could it do that? Normally nightmares would stay nightmares. Then I feel something heavy wrapped around my waist and look to see John's arm. He must have seen me having a nightmare. I smile and blush as I try to get out of his grip but there was no way I could get out of his tight grip. I lie back down and relax. I didn't want to disturb his slumber so I waited for him.

Eventually, he woke up. I had been lying there for only about ten minutes and I was liking the feeling of having him close. It made me feel safe and cared for. Not alone! After losing my parents, I couldn't bare the loneliness I felt. After he woke up he pulled his arm away like it was nothing and got up. I hated feeling the cold as his warmth left me. "Good morning!" he said with a yawn. I smile and return a 'good morning' before getting up and heading downstairs. I was about to grab my shoes when John asked me, "do you want to stay for breakfast?" I look at him and nod with a soft smile.

"Of course!" I reply. We ended up having pancakes as he really wanted me to make my chocolate chip pancakes that I made in our childhood. He was so happy when I placed it in front of him that he said he was 'looking at heaven'. He always knew how to cheer me up and keep me happy. Just being around him made me happy though. After eating John asked me, "do you wanna stay at mine while were in town? I don't really want you suffering with nightmares." He was blushing and scratching the back of his head. The word 'cute' crossed my mind but I shook it away as I agreed. I quickly went to my old house to change and get ready for a new day before heading back to his with my suitcase. I had decided to grabbed my old bunny teddy from my bedroom as well because I missed Mr Sniffles. I couldn't just leave him like I did last time.
