Alex's POV

Trees surrounded me.  I looked around, unsure of where I was.  I heard a scream.  I wanted to run to the source, but my body wouldn't let me.  Instead, it sauntered forward.  It stopped at a cliff, overlooking a plain.  I lifted my head and looked up at a crimson sky.  A smirk came to my face.  I looked down and found the source of the scream.

Risen covered the land.  Villagers tried to fight them, but the Risen proved to be to strong.  Where were the Shepherds?  Why were they not helping?

I watched the scene, for I wasn't able to go down there in help, but it seems like my body found joy in the scene.  It felt like my body had a mind of its own, and I was a bystander.

Suddenly, Risen started falling in a line.  Someone was pushing through, killing Risen as they went along.  Behind the person was a group of knights and fighters.  Then, two Pegasus knights appeared, one with a black pegasus and the other with a white one.   I assumed that those two were Sumia and Cordelia. Then, the Shepherds have arrived.

A stick cracked behind me.  I turned toward the sound.  No one was there.  The crack was loud enough that a being of enough weight would cause it.  That was a human.  I walked forward, Arcthunder in hand.  I scanned the forest.  No one.  Then, someone grabbed me.  I was loose enough that I could pull myself away and fire a spell.  If I missed, they would grab me again and mostly likely knock me out.

I freed myself and loaded my spell.  My hood fell back and I released the spell.  The person was in shock, and I was, too.

"No!"  A person jumped in front of my target.  It was Frederick.  My Arcthunder hit his chest and he fell down to the ground.  The ground around him turned red.  I smiled and walked away.  On the inside, I was crying.  I was in a prison and I couldn't escape.  A laugh sounded in my head that sent shivers down my back.  It continued until the world faded to black.

I woke up in a cold sweat.  What had I just seen?  I shook my head.  A tear rolled down my cheek.  Was I destined to kill Frederick?  Or was it just a bad dream?  Unsure of what it was, I got up to go get another roll.  Food would help calm me.

The parlor light was dim.  The chandelier lights did not come on when I came into the room.  'I guess the light follows the time of day.  I think it's morning.'

It was quiet.  I was used to hearing birds chirping when I woke up.  And the bustle of servants as got breakfast ready and prepared themselves to serve.  It was weird waking up and not finding Lucina in the main room that we would wait in before breakfast was ready.

But this is a new life.  One without living in a castle and learning how to be a princess.

There was no breakfast in the parlor.  No one else was awake.  I took the last roll and ate it.  It was a little stale, but food is food.

I walked over to the fireplace.  The artifacts were strange; they had a magical feel to them.  Next to the fireplace was a bookshelf I didn't realize before.  The books were separated by color.  I grabbed a yellow one.  It had a four-pointed star on it.  I gasped.  It was Arcthunder.  It fell out my hands and I pulled my hands close to my chest.  I stared at it for a minute before I picked it up again.  I held it my hands.  My heartbeat quickened.  'Is my subconscious trying to tell me something?'
