It was that time if the year again. The time where Tom would go into woods and stay there until daylight. He really didn't adore becoming something against his own will, but fuck it. He can't really change it. Not anymore.

Honestly, he didn't like being himself much. Yeah, he had a life and friends. But he knew it can't always be like this. Things were going to change. They always do. We just have to go along with it.

It was around ten when Tom knew it was about time to leave. That is, until a certain girl wished to questioned him about the location he was visiting.
"Hey Tom, where are you going?" The girl asked, curiosity in her voice.
"Oh, um, (Y/n). I didn't think you would still be awake" The man said, growing more worried. "Please don't tell me you're going out to drink again..." She looked at Tom with worry.
"Nah, j-just going out for a walk.",he said as his hands start to slightly twitch.

"Oh...um alright. Just be back before midnight, okay?" She said, warmness filling her words.

"A-alright (N/n), I w-will." And with that, Tom quickly opened the front door and went on his merry way.

(Y/n) was fully aware of his stuttering. She was aware of his twitching. She knew Tom was a grown man, but she was still worried. She didn't want him to go out this late. So, she made a quick plan. She would follow him to make sure he was 100% safe and okay.. Yes, it sounds dumb. But trust me here.

(Y/n) waited about two minutes to make her move.

Quietly and quickly, she followed the male into the woods. 'Why would he come here?' she asked herself.

She noticed him run somewhere in the army of trees. Confused and curious, she stood still, like a dear in head lights. All a sudden, a light purple and blue glow came from near by. Along with an ear pricing growl. Oddly, the voice sounded awfully similar to her crush. Worried, she ran towards the light of blue and purple hue.

Her eyes widened and the sight. A large creature with large horns, claws, and one black eye stood infront of her. She stood still in amazement and shock. The monster hasn't realized her company. So she slowly walked towards it, curiosity flooding her mind.

The monster didn't make her scream or run. It somewhat made her feel relaxed and comfortable in an odd way. While lost in a daze, she stepped cluelessly on a fragile twig. The woods were silent, so the snap filled the woods within seconds. The noise echoed as the monster quickly turned around, startled by the sudden noise.

The girl look stright into its eyes. The monster's eyes looked so similar to someone she knew. Someone she cared for, loved for.

"T-tom?", she mutterd out. The forest made the mutter sound like a light scream in the night's air. Calmly, she rested her tense solders and let out a gentle sigh.

The monster gently walked closer to her. As if he didn't want to scare her. She didn't run, scream, flinch, or squeak.

She trusted this creature.

The monster was right infront of her.
She took in his new features. His dark purple fur, his lavender horns, and his one large, voidish black eye.

The monster quickly bit her hood, gently pulling her off the ground, and dashing off.
"Tom, what are yo-"

She was cut of with how amazing her surrounding were. There was a silent water fall that glowed a light blue under the moon's light. The stones around it shined and shimmered, the grass was a light green hue, and its smell was fresh and peaceful.

Tom gently and carefully placed her onto the soft green grass.
And quietly walked towards the water source. She calmly watched his steps. He kneeled, and quickly drank some water  in the pound. After, he walked away from the water, and laid down next to you.
(Y/n) yawned and looked at Tom. He still acted like himself, as if everything right now is no different than how it is at home.

She gently moved and laid slightly ontop of Tom's side. This seemed to confert him, as he started to gently purr. She looked at the night sky one last time, until being absorbed in warmth and darkness.

(Y/n) opened her eyes in the same location she had rested in. Except, someone was missing that was right by her-side. She turned around to not see the monster from the night before. But to see good ol' Tom looking into the pound.

Slowly, (Y/n) got up, and sat next to Tom. He noticed her and looked up at her.
"So...about last night.",he  to wanted to say many things. Each important, but all mixed together in an awkward mess.

"Yeah, last night was surely something." She said in a warm voice. "I didn't want you to see me like that.", he said in an ashamed tone. He looked back into the pound. Soaking in every detail around him.
"I don't like who I've become. I was always scared for everyone to find out. Especially you, (Y/n)."

He sounded so emotional, as if you would disappear from his life.

"Tom-"

"I only wanted to leave, because you know I'm insecure. I've always done this, on that one specific day. Haven't you noticed? When looking at it, I wasn't even trying to hide this from you."

She scooted closer to him, and placed her head on his shoulder. He tensed up, but quickly got used to the feeling.

"I'm not leaving."

She said this in a stern, yet gentel voice.

"And no. I'm not scared, or worried. You were still yourself last night. You didn't hurt me, you were gentle and sweet." She said, and quickly an idea popped into her head.

" But, there's one main reson I-I didn't leave T-Tom."

She looked at him, as if he knew what she wanted to say. She looked away and whisperd words that made the man's heart flutter.

"T-Tom, I love you."

He smiled and pulled her into a hug. She sighed in relief and joy. The male pulled away from the hug and attached his lips to hers.

  "I'm glad to hear that."
He muttered under his breath in pure relief.

"Now, we should get home. We have a lot of explaining to do." (Y/n) said, nervousness lingering in her voice.

"Yeah." The male said calmly.

"We sure do."
