Chapter One - After a Month

                                    

                                          
-A month after the dragon was defeated-
                          
"Hey, Zac," Mimmi said to Zac as he walked into the grotto.
                          
"Hey, have you seen Rita? I've been wanting to ask her about-"
                          
He was interrupted as Veridia walked into the room. She came in along with Neptina, or Neppy as the pod calls her.
                          
"Have either of you seen Rita? She wasn't with the pod, and she wasn't teaching lessons to the hatchlings..." Veridia asked. Then Neppy joined in, "Yeah, I haven't seen her. I was wondering if she had any ambergris. It's for the presentation next week in class. If I succeed, I'll be one step closer to my moon ring. If I don't, then we'll put it this way. It'll be a major setback for me."
                          
Mimmi answered, "No, I haven't seen Rita. In fact, Zac was just asking me that. By the way, the ambergris is just up there." She pointed to a table with magical ingredients all over it. Neppy thanked them for it and left.
                          
"Tell me if you see her," Veridia replied, and left swiftly.
                          
"Anyways, I'll leave you to whatever you were doing, Mimmi. I'm gonna go grab something to eat with Nerissa. You want anything?" Zac asked. Mimmi declined, "The fish delivery will be here soon. I'll be fine. Thanks, though."
                          
Zac left, and Mimmi went back to her book. It was very fascinating. Apparently, in this book, there was a boy named Harry who defeated this dark wizard. She was on the Goblet of Fire, and only in five minutes she went from engaged in the book to disgusted. She couldn't believe that these "wizards" described mermaids as disgusting creatures. 
                          
By the way, she was one too, so you can only imagine how mad she was. She thought to herself, 'We're beautiful and serene. With beautiful orange tails. Unbelievable!'
                          
She put down the book, and decided to go ahead and head upstairs to change. She was still in the clothes from last night on the full moon. 
                          
While Mimmi was up there, she saw Rita, dizzily, walked down the stairs. She was wearing a pair of grey sweatpants and a old t-shirt of Harry's. By the way, this woman is in her late thirties. Her brown hair is up in messy bun which compliments her green eyes. Nevermind this, though. 
                          
"Rita, are you okay? You don't look so good... A little green, perhaps. Would you like some coffee, I just made some." Mimmi said cautiously to her. Rita didn't exactly look the best she usually does.
                          
"Um, yeah. I guess. I don't feel so good. Do you remember anything I did last night?" Rita questioned. 
                          
"No, I think you were out all night. You know, Veridia wanted to know where you were. Oh, and Neppy borrowed some ambergris for her potion presentation." Mimmi told her. 
                          
"I'm gonna lie back down. Ugh." Rita claimed as she collapsed to the ground. Mimmi helped her up to the couch, got her some coffee, and took her temperature. It was fine, but she gave her a dry ice pack. If it was wet, she would transform into her mermaid self. 
                          
After Mimmi took care of her, she got ready for work and left. Just another day. Except, Rita was hungover, but we'll get to that later.
