Recap:

He stared down at me in silence while gripping my suit tightly. Perhaps he's seeing the error he has made, or perhaps he's attempting to understand the statements I have made. Which ever it was, it was interrupted by a screech from a blonde.

"Are you seriously just going to let her disrespect me like that?!" Canary yelled outraged.

"Do you seriously not know how to shut your mouth Canary? Can't you see you've done enough?" Flash interjected crossing his arms while respectfully looking away from the young girls body.

Canary looked bewildered before closing her mouth and looking down towards the ground.

Suddenly a large cloth covered my body, it took me a second to realize it was robin's cape. I looked towards him confused, but he merely looked away from me and pulled me towards the zetabeam. I watched the faces of my team and the League as he pulled me. They all looked away from me except Connor.

Always Connor, he watched me with those beautiful blue eyes that held so much pain and concern. He always calms me down.

I felt my eyes dim and become their normal shade just by looking at him. I watched as he tried to walk towards me only to be latched on by M'gann. She had tears running down her cheeks while she tightly gripped his arm holding him in place. He looked from me to her then to me again. He was conflicted, scared because of what might happen to me, but worried about what would happen to the team if he were to disrupt the meeting.

A sad smile graced my lips as I was fully dragged into the beam. The last thing I saw before everything went dark was his hopeless concerned eyes.

"Everything will be better when we get home." Robin whispered hugging me closer to him. I could hear the sadness in his voice as his body trembled.

"I'll fix this."

....

Looking down at my phone I sighed getting tired of scrolling through all my current social media accounts. Being a normal teenage girl is so boring.

Looking up from my desk I glanced over at a trio of obnoxiously loud girls giggling at something one had pulled up on her screened device. With my sharpened eyes sight I could make out a picture of some boy without a decent shirt on. Looking away I snickered to myself; the boy whom they were looking at was actually Conner. He and the team had been very active lately and somehow an image of him with his shirt ripped off had gotten taken and is now eye candy for every being without a penis between their legs.

Looking back down at my phone I started scrolling through the pictures of him and I. It was almost sickening how close we used to be; how close the team and I were. It had been eight months since I have been back at the cave; in those months I have currently become my own adult, and mentor. I know it sounds crazy but after my rebel against Bruce I immediately regretted my actions and was too scared to face any consequences from it. So, I ran.

After Dick and I had got home I had locked myself in my room and essentially just hoped out the window. I know, boring right? So generic that you could just puke?  Yeah, I thought that too.

"Alright class, this is the last time we'll be seeing each other while in school. Tomorrow is graduation and I want to just say that you students are the best I have ever had the pleasure of teaching." Miss. Jain said loudly catching my attention. She was a nice woman, very kind; I liked her. Thinking over it for a moment, do I really need to go to graduation? Or can I just pick up my diploma the next day so I don't risk the league finding my in the public newspaper.

I sighed and scratched the side of my face while I thought it out. Normally I really didn't care considering even if the League did find me, there's nothing that could make me return. I found this town, it was littered with crime and was in need of a hero. When I ran away, I skipped town, actually I skipped a couple towns; and eventually I found this town called Evergreen. It's surrounded by woods and is pretty secluded, but for whatever reason the townsfolk around here get robbed a lot. Evergreen isn't some small spot in the middle of no where, it's actually fairly big; bout the size of a small city. Which is perfect for me to watch over and protect on my own. It was only natural for my to enroll myself in the local high school since I am an eighteen year old girl who just happened to move here all by myself. Even without Bruce's money I still think I live a relatively good life, never hungry, and always have a roof over my head. Better than I could say for myself as a child.
