Adrien's POV
(Last Chapter)My alarm went off at six in the morning like always. Plagg whined in his little spot on my bed and just rolled over like usual. I sit up and run a hand through my hair as I let my eyes get used to the light. After a good five minutes of that, I finally get up. I send Marionette a good morning text before going to the bathroom.
For the last week I've been really trying to honor my no stunts commitment to my dad. That means doing exactly as he says. I haven't seen Marionette in a couple days and even then it was only for a few minutes. She says it's fine but I know she's a little annoyed as well.
To be honest, I miss her going to my photo shoots. She always made even the most boring gigs fun. Since she's working more she can't and people are starting to recognize her as my girlfriend. I want her to have a normal life. That means no fans following her everywhere she goes.
That doesn't matter though. I have a day off tomorrow and I already made plans with Marionette. She said she has a surprise for me and so do I! The other day I saw a promise ring in a store window at my lunch and asked Nathalie if I should get it for Mari. She thought it was a great idea.
In about ten minutes, I'm dressed and ready to go downstairs for breakfast. Plagg is sound asleep as I close my bedroom door. I always wake him up after breakfast. If I wake him up beforehand he's cranky all day, so I just steal him some cheese after breakfast.
Once again the dining table is empty when I get there and by empty I mean there is one plate set on the table. I can't wait to have another lovely conversation with myself. I shake my head sadly before sitting down at the big empty table.
The chief walks in seconds later handing me my food. I thank him and he goes back to the kitchen leaving me alone again. I stare at my eggs and toast for a moment.
"Isn't summer supposed to be fun?" I ask myself before taking a sip of my orange juice.
When I'm almost done with my food Nathalie walks into the room. She looks at me with a confused look before walking over to me. I smile politely at her as I try to finish my breakfast.
"I thought you'd be sleeping in," She says and I raise my eyebrows at her.
"Why would I? Don't I have a photo shoot this morning?" I ask and she looks at her schedule.
"Did I forget to tell you?" she asks mainly herself. "Your father needed to head into Spain today for a meeting with a runway director. He thought you'd enjoy a day off."
My mood immediately picks up. Day off? This must be fake. There is no way my father would give me a random day off right before my regular day off. There has to be a catch.
"Are the photo shoots cancelled or will I need to make them up tomorrow?" I ask hoping for the best of the two.
"Cancelled," She says smiling, "Your father doesn't like that photographer anyways."
"Can I go see Marionette?" I ask smiling like a fool at the thought.
"Of course just take your driver," she says starting to walk away, "your father doesn't want you walking anywhere at the moment."
"Thank you!" I exclaim jumping up from my seat and running out of the room without finishing my breakfast.
I stop in the middle of the hallway and run back into the dining room. Nathalie looks at me in amusement as I grab my dishes and bring them into the kitchen hurriedly. I've always felt bad making other people do it for me.
I steal a thing of cheese before running back to my room. I can't wait to tell Marionette that I'm free for the whole day! She's going to be so happy. Ahhh! I missed her so much.
