Scott opened the door to their house as quietly as possible, keeping one hand in his pocket on the ring box. He had to ditch the bag so Mitch wouldn't be suspicious.
                          
"I'm back!" Scott called, taking off his shoes. Loud laughter answered him and he furrowed his eyebrows in confusion.
                          
He set out to find his boyfriend, only getting to the living room when he spotted Mitch leaning against the couch, phone pressed between his ear and shoulder. From Scott's vantage point, he could see that Mitch was painting his nails. 
                          
Noticing his boyfriend, Mitch grinned and held up a finger to signal 'one minute'. Scott smiled and nodded, going to their room to wash his hands. They were all sweaty from nerves and he didn't want Mitch to figure out that something was going on. 
                          
A few minutes later, Mitch came into the room while Scott was changing shirts. "You're back!" Mitch beamed, running over and hugging his man tightly.
                          
Scott laughed, hugging him back. "That's true," he replied. "How do you feel about going on a date tonight?"
                          
Mitch smirked. "Is it a surprise?"
                          
Nodding his head, Scott blushed. "Of course it is."
                          
Mitch pretended to think about it. "A date night sounds amazing Scotty. We haven't had one in a little while now."
                          
"It's been so long," Scott groaned dramatically, making his boyfriend laugh. "Well I'll give you a hint since I know how much you hate surprises."
                          
Mitch gasped in excitement. "Yes!"
                          
"Wear something a little fancy, but like, comfortable."
