If there was one thing I was checking off my bucket list, it was hotwiring a car. When Betty's hands got too shaky and she had a breakdown, I managed to get my shit together and spark the car to life.

I followed Jughead's directions and drove to the bank of Sweetwater River before putting the car in neutral and killing the engine. We piled out and slammed the doors shut before deciding what to do.

"We're gonna have to push it in." Jughead ran a hand through his hair as he looked at the water.

I sighed, looking between the car and the rough water before walking to the trunk. "Then let's do it."

The three of us started to push the vehicle forward, grunting at the effort. Jughead huffed as the front hit the water. "Norman Bates made it look so easy."

With one final shove, we stepped back as the car rolled downhill into the river completely. Jughead's arm wrapped around my shoulder while we watched intensely, praying the car sank.

Finally, bubbles surfaced as the water consumed the car whole, making it disappear from sight. Betty let out a sigh of relief as she let her head drop to my shoulder. We waited a few seconds in silence before Jughead spoke up again.

"His phone, too." He looked over when the blonde next to me didn't move. "Betty, his phone."

She snapped back to reality, chucking the device far into the water and leaving it to sink as well.

"Come on," I gasped, grabbing both of their hands. "We need to get out of here."

--

From horrid murders to sinking cars, I didn't think Riverdale could have many more surprises up its sleeve. Yet, here I was, standing by the kitchen table with my eyes on the television as Mayor McCoy delivered her final speech as mayor. I was completely on edge with yesterday's events and had been constantly looking over my shoulder every minute.

Veronica walked up behind me, a small grin on her face. She brought her arm up to my shoulder as she watched the event as well. "What's going on?"

"Mayor McCoy's resigning." Dad kept his face towards the program as he responded.

"We haven't even made our play yet," Mom added.

Veronica shrugged. "That's great. Now, you don't have to. If you did, it'd be cruel."

Both of our parents turned towards each other before spinning to look back at the two of us. I just shrugged my shoulders, giving them the same sickly sweet smile as Veronica was. We turned and exited the room, both of us heading towards our bedrooms.

"You told her, didn't you?" I whispered, pausing by Ronnie's bedroom door.

Veronica paused before facing me. "I told them from the beginning. I don't want to be the bad guy, Vanna. And contrary to your belief, I'm not, and I'm most definitely not going to start now."

I gave her a tight lipped smile and a nod before heading into my bedroom. I had just sat down on my bed when my phone started ringing.

Mi príncipe

I slid my finger across the screen before pulling the phone up to my ear. "Jug, hey. Everything alright?"

"Sav, I need you to get over here. Like, yesterday."

I was instantly back on my feet, grabbing my purse and keys from my nightstand. "Yeah, yeah, I'm on my way."

I heard him hum an agreement before the dial tone sounded in my ear, meaning he hung up. I groaned and threw my door open before sprinting out. Mom and Dad had disappeared from the dining room, probably in the study. I didn't bother telling them I was leaving and just left, running until I was in my car with my seatbelt buckled.

I considered myself a good driver, most of the time that is. I mean, I haven't gotten pulled over but if Sheriff Keller had been on the streets tonight, I certainly would've. I made it to Jughead's with record timing. Shoving my door open, I grabbed my stuff out before slamming it shut.

I ran, again, up the stairs to the trailer before knocking. Thankfully, Jughead was alive and breathing as he pulled the door open and tugged me inside. I took notice of FP on the couch, looking awfully stressed.

Mr. Jones pointed at me, raising his eyebrows at his kid. Jughead swallowed thickly and nodded. FP sighed. "This is the biggest mess you've gotten yourself into, boy."

I looked between the two of them, my gaze stopping on Jughead. "Did you-"

"I told him," Jughead spilled, "I told him everything."

I sighed, closing my eyes as I ran my hand through my hair. This was just getting worse and worse and worse. I opened my mouth to say something but was cut off by another knock on the door. Jughead moved to open it but FP held a hand out as he stood up from the couch. He cut in front of us, giving us a stern look before pulling the door open. I moved behind Jughead as it was revealed that Alice and Betty stood on the other side.

"FP." Mrs. Cooper looked desperate for anybody at this point.

"Save it, Alice. Jughead just told me, all of it." There was a pause as FP turned to look back at us. I grabbed Jug's hand, placing my chin on his shoulder. I had a feeling FP wasn't about to turn the Cooper girls away. "I'm not going to let the four of you make the same mistake I made with Jason Blossom. Come on."

He stepped aside, nodding his head to motion them in. Alice made eye contact with Jughead and I before walking in, Betty following closely behind.

I took a deep breath and squeezed Jughead's hand. I had a feeling this was going to be a chaotic night.

--

Eventually, everyone minus FP went to Pop's to wait while the situation was handled. I sat in between Betty and Jughead, my head leaning on the latter as we waited for his father's return.

When the bell rang above the door, Alice instantly turned around to watch Mr. Jones walk in. She moved over against the window to make room as he sat down silently. I tapped my fingers against my coffee mug absentmindedly as we waited for FP to deliver the news.

"It's done," He sighed, slumping down in the seat.

Jughead's nose scrunched up as he looked at his dad. "Geez, Dad. You reek."

FP leaned his head back against the booth. "It's the sodium hydroxide. In a week, there'll be nothing left. Not even his teeth."

I winced at the idea, curling further into Jughead's side as Mrs. Cooper thanked FP. I tuned her out as I closed my eyes briefly. When I opened them again, I saw Mr. Jones place his hand on top of Alice's, mumbling about taking care of their own.

Looking away from Alice, FP eyes landed on us. "The circle ends here. No loose ends."

We all nodded, cuddling up to each other in the small booth. That night, we knew the time for being kids was over completely. There wouldn't be any freedom. Secrets had to be kept. Like, FP said, no loose ends.

This disaster was ending, right here, right now.
