"What was the prophecy?" He asked, trying to hide his fear.
I recited it as I had received it.
"Flame will spark, but let it shine bright as a star, for darkness and destruction will descend, destroying everything in it's path. Let the Flame grow, and it will blind the darkness." I said.
Timberstar looked purely confused. He started pacing his den, repeating the prophecy word by word.
"What does it mean?" He asked, stamping his foot in frustration.
He looked up to the roof of the den.
"StarClan! Give me a sign!" He yowled.
Suddenly, lightning crackled outside. I heard cats start screaming. We ran out to see what the commotion was, and I will never forget that moment.
There, surrounded by burned ash, lay Wasppaw.
"My kit!" Cried Moonheart, Wasppaw's mother.
I ran to him, hoping to try and save him. He may not have been the nicest cat, but he did try to save me, and I was going to do the same.
"Wasppaw?" I whispered, tears welling up.
I noticed a cat at my side, and I looked at her. It was the cat who rescued me!
"Who are you?" I asked.
Of course, she didn't answer. She looked at me, bowed her head, and then licked Wasppaw's ear. Then the last thing that I expected happened. He wheezed, coughed, and looked at me.
"Flamepaw? You... your ok." He rasped, smiling.
"Right now, we need to worry about you." I responded, my heart warming at his concern for me.
I helped him up and led him to Oakfoot. She nodded at me, and took him to the makeshift medicine den.
"Y... you saved my kit!" Moonheart meowed behind me. Her face was full of astonishment.
I heard another cat whisper "She's a hero!" And another "She brought him back from StarClan! How?"
Then they started swarming me, asking questions and meowing appraise. I noticed Timberstar sitting at the edge of camp, staring into the forest.
I made my way to him and sat next to him.
"Timberstar, what are you looking at?" I asked.
He didn't answer, so I prodded his side.
"Timberstar?"
He looked at me.
"Oh, Flamepaw, it's you. You did good today, I'm very proud of you. We will start your training tomorrow if the camp's rebuilt."
Finally, my first day of training. I begged StarClan to not mess it up again, and padded over to check on Wasppaw.
He was sleeping on the same small nest that I had, and I couldn't help thinking that he looked peaceful in his sleep.
I walked over to him, and licked his ear.
"Thank you for trying to save me, I will never forget it." I whispered.
Then, I heard my mother call me for the evening meal, so I padded out into the setting sun. The clouds had parted and faded away. The sun was welcoming after the disaster that had happened earlier that day. The camp was coming along, the elders den and nursery were already completed. And they had started working on the apprentices and medicine. If they kept up, the other apprentices and I would sleep covered tonight.
I walked over and grabbed a mouse, and went over by Cloudpaw.
"Hey." I said, rubbing her face.
She looked up and smiled, jumping up and rubbing my cheek.
"I'm glad your ok." She purred.
Me too, StarClan wouldn't be as good as coming home to my family.
