Chapter 9

                                    

                                          
It took a while, but we're finally getting places! Woo!
                          
-Aaron's POV
                          
This is ridiculous, Aaron thought to himself as he stared at the blank wall outside of the still cage. He and Ein, after much trial and error, found the simplest way to keep the cage from going to Mars and back with every movement, and that was to sit in the center with their backs to each other.
                          
"So, uh, what have you been up to?" Ein says, awkwardly trying to break the silence.
                          
"You know, the usual. Not being stuck in cages until now."
                          
"Right, me too."
                          
"Since we're talking now, apparently, how were you and Aphmau in high school? I didn't really know you at all then since you showed up the first year I wasn't there."
                          
"We were the Alphas of the Werewolves, and we were best friends after we got to know each other! She was also friends with some other Meif'wa that wasn't that pink one that's always around her. I never could tell if she liked he or I better."
                          
"From what I heard from.. another Werewolf I still had contact with from high school, neither of you were all that nice."
                          
"I don't know who told you that, Aphmau and I were the best Alphas, you know! No one had to fight amongst themselves anymore."
                          
Whatever happened to him has completely changed what he remembers from the past.., Aaron says to himself, I have to be careful then, don't I? "Maybe he had wanted to be Alpha as well, so he just had a negative opinion of you."
                          
"Maybe,"
                          
They lapse into silence. A little while later they hear footsteps coming closer, but it was two sets of footateps instead of one. Both Aaron and Ein looked to the doorway to see who was coming. Around to corner came "Z" and.., "Aphmau!?" Aaron says in disbelief. Had she been caught too?
                          
"Hello again you two." Z says as if nothong were out of the ordinary. "I see you've at long last figured ouy how to stop that thing from moving? I would think an Ultima of all thibgs would be smarter."
                          
"..Ultima?" Ein says, thinking out loud. As far as he knew, neither he nor Aaron were Werewolves.
                          
Aaron moves the the front of the cage closest to the doorway and tries to get Aphmau to speak to hi., "Aphmau, did he hurt you? Are you okay?"
                          
"I'm sorry.., do I know you?" Aphmau says apologetically, looking over at Aaron. And that's when Aaron sees she has green eyes again, and he freezes.
                          
Z laughs at his reaction, "You thought he was the only one who could create forever potions?" He says, pointing at the confused Ein.
                          
Aaron stirs again, "Who the hell are you? What do you want with her!"
                          
"I've come to correct the past, but that means I have to erase you from her life or it won't even matter "
                          
"What's going on?" Ein asks. He's very confused. Forever potions? He'd never heard of them. No one replies to him still, too busy with the danger at hand.
                          
"Who are you." Aaron asks again.
                          
"This is as simple as I can put it. I'm Aphmau's father, and I've decided she's more valuable than I once thought so I've come to take her back."
                          
He's going to use her for something, I just know it! Aaron thinks to himself as he glares at the other Werewolf.
                          
"Wait, I thought Aphmau didn't know her father?" Ein says.
                          
"She doesn't. He's using magic on her so she thinks she does." Aaron replies.
                          
"The only way to successfully do that is to elimnate you from her life." Z says, looking Aaron in the eyes with a cchallenge.
                          
"What are you going to dl? Leave us in this cage? Kill us? Why is Ein even here?"
                          
"He was around and he'd have probably ruined my plans if I didn't keep him isolated as well."
                          
"However," Z continues, "He now may be of actual use." He takes the other forever potion out from beneath his cloak. "All I have to do is use this thing on thw both of you, and I can walk out of here scott free. Your other oetty friends won't even know we're gone!"
                          
"Wh- What is that?" Ein asks, looking between ghw potion and Aaron.
                          
"That's a forever potion; once it sets it lasts forever.. I don't know what exactly that one does though."
                          
"Then you'll have to find out for yourselves, yes?" Z says. He looks between the two as he asks, "So who's up first?"

After a struggle, eventually the second potion is gone. The two Z had had were one for "mind control", and one for "love". Z had said he used the wrong potion on Aphmau; he was originally going to use the love one on her so she'd trust him like any daughter should there father. Instead she had had the mind control. The mind control was supposed to be used on Aaron to make him forget Aphmau ever existed; but then Ein became a problem as well and that wouldn't have worked as well if the potions were used as originally intended. This means Aphmau had the mind control, the other two had the love, and their friends had no idea what was happening still.
