"Don't cry because it's over, smile because it happened."

Ever woke up in the early hours of dawn, slightly jet-lagged she padded downstairs to the kitchen to make herself a warm cup of dragon fruit tea. Soon after Pan too shuffled down the stairs, sleepy and grumpy, not at all excited to go to the school thing that Ever was keen about.
"Excited?" She asked, her voice filled with the sweet symphony of joy.
Pan glared at the blonde, taking a piece of bread before disappearing upstairs.
"Remember we need to leave in five minutes!" She called as she finished her warm tea and buttered her own piece of nutty bread.
Five minutes later on the dot, the twins walked outside. Ever, who was as enthusiastic as giddy 4-year-olds on Christmas, was wearing a floral sundress and a ribboned hairband in her hair, like she was going to a fancy beachside brunch. However, the sentiment quite frankly did not extend to her twin, unfortunately. He too was dressed like he was going to a fancy brunch with his black jeans and navy striped polo, but the contrasting scowl on his face made him look like a living breathing oxymoron.

They jumped out of the car in the desolated parking lot. Ever had a frown etched on her face as she looked unhappily at her brother.
"What?" He asked as he took his backpack from behind his seat.
Ever pursed her lips as he handed her the handbag. "We're late. And it's your fault." She said pointily and started walking towards the school. Pan stared at his sister in confusion as he ran to catch up with her.
As he caught up with her, he steadied his pace. "How is this my fault?" He asked
"Because I said so, and I'm always right! Take responsibility for your bloody actions." Ever said as she pulled the door and entered the school's deserted hallway. Pan huffed but did not protest, seeing that there was no way to win. They walked side by side to the office where they were greeted by a lovely lady who was quite smiley. She gave them their schedules and accompanied them to their first class.
"We have a new English teacher," She smiled, "She seems like a nice lady and a good teacher. Her name's Miss Blake." She continued as she knocked on one of the class doors and opened it. "Sorry for disturbing you, Miss Blake, these are the two new students from England." The Lady smiled as Miss Blake smiled too.
"Thank you, Mrs King. There are two seats in the back for you." Miss Blake instructed the twins followed, eyes upon them like they were deers in hunting season. "As I was saying, phones, off everyone." One by one the hunters turned their heads like a movie was starting and all phones were switched off.
"Shakespear one of the great-"Miss Blake started but she was cut off by a blackbird hitting the window, again...and again. Soon hundreds of birds were knocking into the windows chipping it one by one before breaking the window. Black flashes across the room, attacking unknowing students and screams echoed throughout the whole room. Ever crouched down beneath her desk as Pan shield her with his back. A couple of minutes later the birds finished their fiasco and many were dead on the ground. A lot of people were covered in blood including the strawberry blonde girl that was held up by a boy with messy brown hair. Pan helped Ever off the floor and brushed off the cracked glass that covered him. He sat down on a chair that he pulled off the ground as if nothing had happened as Ever crouched back down to pick up her stuff that was sprawled around the floor.
"Is everyone okay?" Miss Blake asked concerned as she helped a few students up from the floor. A few people nodded but soon everyone was crowded around the window, looking upon the fields of dead birds. Ever scrunched up her face and continued to pack whereas Pan didn't even give it the time of day as he waited patiently at the door for his sister.
"How come the new people are not freaked out by this?" Stiles asked Lydia who was mesmerized by the dead birds.
"How should I know. I'm not a psychic."She snapped as Stiles raised an eyebrow. "I'm not!" She said pursing her lips and glaring at the spastic teenage boy.
