Chapter 22

After peter burnt down the house, we fled into the woods.

"Do you have a plan?" I asked as we ran.
In the distance we heard a furious shriek.

"Of course I have a plan." He said. But he didn't seem too certain.

A few minuets passed and everything was quiet.

We slowed to a walk.
Peter looked like he was deep in thought.
"The shadow knows every inch of this island, just like I do. It will know where we are in a matter of minuets."

"So what are we going to do?"

" there is one place where I am certain the shadow has never been." He said.

"Where is it?"

Peter shook his head. "I can't say it out loud or he will know. Just follow and trust me."

He went off the path and ducked under a bush.
I followed him.
Underneath the bush was longer then I thought. It seemed to stretch forever.
Then we came to a stump.

Peter placed his hands on it and pulled with all his might.
It came up, and where it was, was a deep hole.

"Ladies first." He smirked.

"You want me to go into an underground hole? Are you kidding me?!"

"Fine. I'll go first."

Feet first he slid into the hole.

"Come on!" His voice echoed.

I held my breath and slid down the hole.

It was like a slide. After a little journey, it opened up into a room.

I gasped.

There was little shelves that came out of the walls. They looked like they were beds.
There was a large bed in the center of the room.

"Where are we?" I murmured.

"The lost boys old camp. This was before I gave up everything for magic." Peters fingers ran over the objects on the small dresser.
There was a crows feather, and arrow head and some bracelets.

"I haven't been here in 80 years."

"Whoa whoa whoa. Your 80 years old?"

Peter laughed softly. "Actually, 250."

"Oh my god."

I sat on one of the beds. "First I find out that you are Peter Pan, then that you have magic, and now that your 250 years old!"

He winked. "And I don't look a day over 18."

I put my head in my hands. "That's something you don't hear everyday."

"You should get changed into something that blends into the forest."

I looked at my bright pink pjs.

"This is all I have."

He waved his hand and green smoke surrounded me.

When it faded away, I was wearing a green peasant dress with a brown hood.
My blonde hair curled at the bottoms, there was crow feathers in my hair and surprisingly, I didn't need my glasses.

" wow." I murmured.

"You look great." Peter said sheepishly.

In the night, I woke up to a strange sound.
Peter was fast asleep, his arm around my waist.

There was a groaning sound coming from the slide.

I nudged peter.

His eyes opened slowly.
"What??"

"Listen." I whispered.

The groaning got louder.

Peter sat up. "What the?"
That's when someone slid through the hole.

Peter leaped out of the bed and thrust his hands forward.

The person slammed into the wall.
"Hey! Stop!"

"Felix?!" I asked.

"Yes."

Peter waved his hand and the little room lit up.

"Felix!"
Peter ran over and man hugged his friend.

"What are you doing here?" I asked.

"I could ask you the same question." Felix narrowed his eyes. "But I am here to hide from the shadow."

I nodded. "Us too."

"You weren't.... Um, doing anything in my bed were you?" Felix muttered.

Peters face looked stricken. "Of course not. We weren't even in the same bed."

Felix gave him a look that said. I know your lying.

Peter didn't even look at me since Felix got here. But I understood. He was a lost boy, and he wasn't supposed to have emotions.

"Everyone, get back to sleep. We will talk in the morning." I said.

Felix took a bed on the opposite side of the room.

I waited for peter to come back to me, but he didn't.

He took his own bed diagonal to Felix's.

It stung. But I didn't let it bother me.

In the night, I reached to the other side of the bed for peter.

And I was surprised when my fingers met his side.

He rolled over and smiled towards me. Then put his finger to his lips, and closed his eyes.
