Kise
"Momoicchi came over earlier." I softly announced as I cleaned up the dishes. Aomine made no comment, only glancing at me for a few seconds before turning his attention back to the television. I sighed, and wiped my hands with a dried cloth before sitting next to him. I waited.
"What do you want me to say?" He finally spoke. "It's not the first time I've skipped practice. Heck, there's no reason for me to go anymore. You know that very well, Kise."
"Yes, I know. But can't you think of Momoi's feelings for once? She's your manager, and I don't care that you were friends with her since you two were little, at least pay her some respect. Plus, she's the one who stayed by your side, even when you've changed into an ass."
Aomine became silent then, but through his tired eyes I knew he thought I was right. But being Aomine, he would never admit his faults. Probably one of the reasons it didn't turn out well with Kuroko, though maybe it was also for the best.
"Leave me alone." He mumbled.
"Sure thing." I simply agreed to it because who knows what he might do if I commented something about Momoi again. Aomine had a really bad temper, and the last thing I wanted was a bruised eye.
I decided to leave the house and went for a short jog by the roadside for a while. A simple distraction was good enough to clear my head off these kinds of things, and I really needed that distraction. Being the middle person suck sometimes.
I was about to take a left turn until a head of green caught my eyes. I gasped in excitement and increased my jogging speed.
"Midorimacchi!"
The familiar look of annoyance was flashed to me as a respond when Midorima turned his head. I laughed anyway, and gently slapped his back as a greeting.
"It's good to see you again," I grinned. "What are you doing here anyway? You don't live anywhere around here, do you?"
He pushed his glasses up the bridge of his nose, a familiar habit that I've known for a long time, and answered, "My phone broke, and I was looking for a place to fix it."
My eyes widened in amusement when I noticed the bandaged wrapped around his left hand's fingers. I chuckled as I pointed at it, making him frown.
"I see you're still wrapping your fingers with that bandage. Some things don't change, huh?"
"It's none of your business, Kise, and you wouldn't understand either."
I smirked. "Oh really? What's your lucky item for today, Midorimacchi?"
"Stop calling me that," He growled, and I didn't realise we were walking side by side until we walked pass a glass window. "And it's a toy toad, but I left it at home because I was in a hurry."
I snickered. "Is that why you broke your phone?" Heat rose to his pale cheeks and he instantly looked away. "It wasn't on purpose."
"I heard you're living with Aomine," He decided to change the subject. "How is he?"
Ah, so much for a distraction.
So I told Midorima everything, about how he was skipping practices more, coming home late at night sometimes, pissing Momoi off, and even the story about Kuroko and Kagami getting together.
"Does Aomine know about that?" I shook my head. "He doesn't, and I don't plan on telling him. It's not my story to tell."
"He's not over him yet, is he?"
I shook my head again.
Our walk became a silent one, both with different thoughts in mind. Midorima was never fond of Kuroko, but I knew deep down inside he admired that boy. After all, Kuroko was amazing. Inside and out.
"I'll see you tomorrow then, Kise." The green-headed boy said to me, and he was already gone before I could tell him the same thing. When I turned back to finish my jog, a text came in, and I smiled a little after reading it.
From: Midorima
It's good to see you again, Kise. Let's do our best tomorrow."But I'm not playing this time, silly." I chuckled as I jogged my way back home.
