Jessica's PoV
I woke up to the chirping of the birds, and the burning heat that pierced my window. Judging by how quiet the house was, it was still pretty early.I dragged my body out of the bed and trudged towards the mirror. My hair was all over the place but not like it normally was when I woke. The feeling of fatigue evident in my body, albeit I just rose from slumber. Sleep was tiresome and something was really bugging me.
I walked to the bathroom to wash my face but, on my way there I stopped by my brother's room. I knocked on the door before entering.
"Hey James?" I called after entering.
"Good morning sis." He replied as he walked out of his closet, dressed as if he was about to go for a jog. "You don't ever wake up this early on a Saturday. Heck, we even struggle to wake you up during the week."
"I know!" I growled.
"Hey, relax." He said trying to calm me. "What's eating you?"
"I don't know. It's just I couldn't sleep and something's been bugging me for a long time." I explained. "It's about you and Jazmine."
"There's nothing between Jazmine and I!" He aggressively defended. "She practically hates me and I don't blame her. When she sees me, she sees a cheater. I am a cheater."
After James began to get extremely angry and defensive, it struck me. I never heard his side of the story. I just criticized and judged him right away. What sort of sister would that make me?
"What really happened?" I asked. "I never truly heard what happened."
"What do you mean?" He questioned.
"What really happen that things turned out this way?" I continued. "And don't try to just say nothing really did."
"You wouldn't understand." He turned his back to me. "You think I'm a liar and a cheater."
I sighed as I walked over to him and hugged him from behind. This was something I haven't done since he was upset about not being able to get tickets to a concert and thought that it'd be a problem for Jazmine. "Just tell me. I'm not going anywhere James. I will stay here and listen."
The sincerity in my voice comforted him enough to open up. "Alright but please, don't hate me."
"I don't and I never will hate you James." I replied; saddened by his remark. "Don't insinuate like that. I'm your younger sister and I'm here for you."
"Well, lets start from when I was dating Jazmine." He started.
James' PoV
I held her back as I embraced her tightly; pressing my lips against her soft lips. She pushed me off playfully; her hand held my shirt.
"Congratulations, we're finally going to the next level." She finally spoke; her Russian accent evident in all ways.
"Well, that we are. If I'm going to go pro, I will have to rebuild my football thing." I joked.
"You won't have to do it alone. I'll support you through it all." She replied as she smiled. "See you tomorrow. I have to go; helping out mom with taking care of Jeremy."
I kissed her once more before she left.
After a few weeks of going out on dates with her, our anniversary was finally here. I decided to eat dinner with her family and that this would be the best time to tell them that we like each other or something close to that.
"So Jazzy? Have you figure out to tell them that we aren't just close friends that go to the park and to watch movies?" I asked as I sat next to her on her bed.
