Ever since I walked into my house, all I could think about was what Diana said to me.

Me like Gilbert?

Even thinking about it made me confused in all sorts of ways.

I lay in my bed, which might I say I went to bed at 9 and it's 3 in the morning now, tossing and turning. I really needed to get some sleep for tomorrow, since I have to wake up again to go to school. But I couldn't seem to get Diana's comment about me out of my head.

I sighed in annoyance.

"Come on Evelyn! Just go to sleep already and forget everything that has happened today." I whisper to myself, mentally banging my head.

After another 20 minutes of unsuccessful sleep, I went down stairs to the kitchen to get myself a glass of water.

Given that it was late at night and it was in the middle of winter, the ground was freezing to the touch. Thankfully I had house slippers to wear.
————-
Sitting at the kitchen table, drinking my water, I gazed out at the window to see the night sky shining bright.

Back home you could never get a view like this...unless you counted my old rooms ceiling which contained the night sky painted on it.

Once I finished my drink I walked to the sink to place it in there. With my back turned I could hear footsteps behind me. I turned to see Nathaniel.

THANK GOD IT WASNT GRANDMA. I thought not knowing what she would do if she found me in the kitchen this late of night.

"What are you doing up?" Nathaniel asked rubbing his eyes from sleep.

I shrugged my shoulders.

"I couldn't sleep." I stated, walking past him to get back into bed.

"Evelyn," said Nathaniel, making my turn around from the stairs.

"Yeah,"

"If that Andrews kid keeps bugging you, let me know. Nobody should pick on my little sister." He says smirking.

I smile.

"Thanks Nate...oh sorry I mean Nathaniel."

"No it's okay you can call me Nate if you want...it's a new place right? A new place to start over?" He said smiling and turning back towards the kitchen.

"Yeah....I guess you can say that."

After that I layed in bed and dozed off to sleep.

—————

"Evelyn! Wake up." Says Grandma down stairs.

I rubbed my eyes and sit up to stretch me arms.

I got up from the bed to get ready for school and made my bed. I turned towards my window to see if the Robin was there, but sadly he wasn't.

Maybe I scared him off? I thought kinda disappointed that the little bugger wasn't there to give me a 5am wake up call.

I ran downstairs to see Nate, again, stuffing his face with breakfast.

"Morning." I say grabbing a piece a toast from the stove.

"Morning." Grandmother said walking into the room in a long green dress with lace all over it.

"Grandma are you going somewhere today?" I ask confused if her fancy attire.

"Oh! Yes I forgot to tell you kids I will be leaving to Kingsbrooke to see the new Mayor and his Wife. I won't be back for a day or two given how far the town is from here, so you guys will be on your own." She says cleaning up Nate's play and cup from the table and placing it in the sink.

"No problem Grandma." Nate says smirking mischievously.

I crossed my eyebrows in confusion. What was he up to?

Grandma then walk out of the room to get her bags.

I lean in towards Nate.

"What are you planning on doing Nate?"

"Oh you know just gonna invite some friends over, maybe raid grandmas liquor cabinet..." he quickly got up to avoid any other questions from me.

"Ugh! Nathaniel!"

He ignored my protests and went upstairs to fetch his school books.

This is going to be a llllooooonnnnggggg 2 Days.

——————-

Nate actually don't walk with me to school, he left without me so I was left alone to walk.

Once I was halfway to the school someone grabbed me by the waist, a pulled me into a old red barn. The guy put a hand over my mouth to keep me from screaming and kicked the barn door shut. He threw me onto a pile of hay. I quickly pushed my hair out of my eyes to see my kidnapper. It was Billy Andrews.

So sorry for the VERY late update. School has been keeping me very busy with everything so I haven't had enough time to write. Sorry again! :(
