Sora dove to the ground and rolled away just in time for a wide laser beam to whiz pass the spot where she was standing just a few seconds ago.
                          
Shachi, in an attempt to 'look cool', imitated Sora and also dove, rolling away. 
                          
The only thing was, he miscalculated the distance between him and a random tree bark and ended up slamming his face on it.
                          
Penguin snorted while Natsu yelled at them to stop goofing around.
                          
Sora didn't have the time to join their shenanigans. Usually, she would go along their jests and try to lighten up the mood, but she knew this wasn't the time to joke.
                          
The fight with the pacifista started minutes ago, where Law asked the machine why such a high figure in the navy would show up for 'mere rookie pirates'. 
                          
The pacifista however, didn't reply. As it attacked the Heart and Kid pirates with its signature light beam, both crews parted and engaged it in battle. 
                          
Earlier, Bepo leaped towards the pacifista and delivered a kick to its elbow. However, he was introduced to the realization that his attack was fruitless as he fell to the ground with a pained cry while clutching his leg.
                          
Sora panted as she watched both pirate crews unleash attacks one after another. Kid, who had an enormous arm made out of metallic weapons (although how he got the weapons, that was beyond Sora's comprehension), raised them high up above his head before bringing them down towards the pacifista. As the brunette expected, the attack didn't leave so much as a dent, as the metals littered around the pacifista's feet.
                          
Killer lunged towards their opponent from behind, scythes at ready. When he reached the right spot, Killler pushed himself upwards and gripped his blades tight as he slashed at the pacifista's back. 
                          
Sora resisted the urge to cover her ear as the sound of metal scratching metal screeched through the air.
                          
Shocked that their foe didn't have human flesh, Killer paused for a split second while he was still in mid-air. That proved to a bad move on his part as the pacifista swung its arm backwards while swivelling his torso. Realizing that he didn't have enough time to dodge, Killer quickly crossed his arms in an 'X' form, using his scythes as a guard as he was pushed backwards and skidded a few meters away.
                          
This was getting them nowhere.
                          
While the pirates were recuperating, the pacifista scanned the area until its gaze landed on Clive, who was smart enough to stay in the back of the formation as he wasn't much of a fighter yet. Once the machine's target was clear, it opened its mouth to spit out another of those annoying light beams.
                          
Clive dodged the beam easily, as he was a master of that art. However, the pacifista had already aimed its pawed-palm on him, another beam shooting out. The blond was taken aback with the consecutive attacks and since overtaking the speed of light wasn't an easy feat, he stood still like the idiot he was until a forceful shove pushed him away from the path of laser beam.
                          
A blinding yellow light was all Sora could see, as well as the voice of someone yelling her name.

The next thing Sora knew, she was on the grass.
                          
When her vision finally cleared, the girl glanced up only to see a figure towering over her, facing his back. A blue dome flickered until it eventually faded away. 
                          
Law didn't bother to look at Sora. "You're welcome."
                          
It took at least 5 seconds for the girl to compose herself, recalling what happened just a few seconds ago. One second, the burrito was in danger of accidentally letting himself killed, so Sora butted in to save his sorry ass. Then, in the next second, she realized she just got her ass saved by Law.
