"I busted a mirror and got seven years bad luck, but my lawyer thinks he can get me five." – Steven Wright
Rhowette couldn't believe it. These two men looking at her from across the table thought she was some demonic being who went about feeding off the sexual energy of others through the art of seduction. She mentally face palmed. What did she even know about seduction?
Oh please girl, you know plenty. Those theories you've been accumulating over the years will pay off if you put it to practical use, Rhowette's inner self chimed in. Of all the times to have an inner conversation, this was the time she chose to have it? Rhowette felt like hitting her head on the table several times just so she could get rid of her rather uncontrolled random thoughts.
"Well, it is the only lead we have, and so far you have not really shown signs of being one. But then you never know. Maybe it is being held at bay by the protection spell that Munira said has been placed on you. For now we need to meet your aunt and you'll be coming along with us. Hopefully we'd leave in a few days."
Rhowette looked up at Abraham as he spoke. As much as she was bothered about not knowing what she was, she most definitely did not like the idea of being a succubus. She could end up draining the life out of someone she loved, unless the person too was a sex demon. But then who would want to end up with a succubus or an incubus? Rhowette panicked.
"Breathe Rhow, breathe. Deep slow breathes," Rhowette whispered to herself. She mentally resigned herself to take everything one step at a time. Hopefully meeting her aunt should bring an end to everything.
She felt a hand on her shoulder and looked up to see Alpha Gregory looking down at her. "I know it is all a bit overwhelming but don't stress too much. Everything will sort itself out." With a gentle reassuring squeeze he turned and left his study, leaving behind a rather astonished Rhowette.
Her eyes must have been playing tricks on her. For a moment the alpha who had been naught but strict and straightforward with her actually looked at her with concern?
"I think you should go and busy yourself with something. Thinking too hard won't do you any good." Abraham's words broke through her thoughts.
"Yes, I think that might be helpful," She murmured, before pulling herself up and making her way out of the study.
Abraham watched the girl go and felt an amount of pity for her. He couldn't imagine what she felt, lost and alone? Probably how his own kids felt after his withdrawal upon their mother's death. He let out a sad sigh. He couldn't get lost in his emotions right now. He had a lot of work to handle.

Within moments of stepping into the kitchen, Rhowette was engulfed into a rather life threatening hug.
"Finally, finally. I've missed you so much. First Phil hogged you up there all to himself and then the Alpha and his stuck up Beta had you locked up in that stuffy study for hours? How was I to live with myself without you for so long? I almost died, in fact I died. And now your presence has brought me back to life."
"Fii. Oxygen. Can't. Breathe."
"Oh, sorry." Fiona grinned sheepishly.
Lisa rolled her eyes at her baby sister's overly dramatic antics as she moved from behind the kitchen counter to give Rhowette a hug.
"Fii, you do know that the supposedly stuck up Beta is your father right? And we both know the Alpha's study is the opposite of stuffy. By the way Rhow, good to have you back, you've been missed."
Fiona stuck out her tongue at her sister's comment, causing Rhowette and Lisa to laugh at her childish gesture.
"Rhow, come along now, we have to get you ready for the party." Fiona shouted with emphasis on party while she pulled Rhowette out of the kitchen and up the stairs to her room.
"What party?"
"It's this new club that just opened up in the next town. We are going with the boys and a couple of others from the pack."
Rhowette abruptly came to a stop and pulled her hands out of Fiona's.
"I don't do parties Fii. Crowds are not my thing."
"Don't worry Rhow, it won't be that crowded."
"How sure are you?" Rhowette asked skeptically.
"One thousand percent sure." Fiona grinned.
Rhowette knew the moment she agreed that it was a bad idea. Hesitantly she entered Fiona's room and watched as the hyper she wolf rummaged through her wardrobe. Sitting on the bed, Rhowette lay down on her back and closed her eyes. Knowing how thorough Fiona was, she knew this whole dress selection and dressing up was going to take a while.
A couple of hours later and after being subjected to a lot of prodding and poking, Rhowette headed downstairs to meet the boys with Fiona at her side. She felt uncomfortable for a moment under the scrutiny of the boys, but a smile from Philip was all it took for her to push away the ruckus of nerves in her belly.
"You clean up astonishingly well Rhow," Daniel whistled from beside Philip. And it took all Philip had to restrain himself from hitting the back of Daniel's head. Luckily Fiona did it for him.
"A gentleman does not whistle in appreciation when giving a compliment. You'd make it sound so wrong, like a booty call."
"Dang it Fii, you could have said it without hitting me."
"ha-ha, too bad. I'll remember that some other time."
Daniel was ready with a comeback when Rhowette cut in smoothly, "Can we please get going?"
With a groan and a threatening look at Fiona, Daniel turned to follow Philip and the other pack members coming along with them.
In total, they were ten with four girls including Rhowette and Fiona and six boys. Fiona introduced Rhowette to the girls. A bubbly personality in the person of Tara and the all-out wild party girl called Sasha. By the time they were on their way to the club, Rhowette knew that the other boys with them were Garret, Benjamin, Josh and Jason.
In a span of thirty minutes, they were at the club, thanks to the boys who decided to have a race while on their way.
"Boys and their toys," Tara murmured with a shake of her head as she got out of Jason's car with Benjamin and Sasha.
"Oh shush there, the race was awesome." Sasha hollered.
Rhowette and Fiona just shook their head in amusement. Luckily, they had ridden with Philip who had not bothered to speed up because of the race.
Daniel, Garret and Josh cat called and high fived each other as they stepped out of Daniel's car all because they had beaten the other two cars in the race.
Philip made his way toward the door of the club, totally disregarding the queue and with a whisper to the bouncer; all ten of them were ushered in without a moments delay.
Rhowette looked around at the flashing lights in the club and could already feel a headache coming up at the sound of the loud music. Beside her Fiona grinned happily. Pulling Rhowette along with her into the crowd of bodies on the dance floor, she screamed, "Let's party!!!"
Yhup, this was a totally bad idea, Rhowette thought before she let the music drown her thoughts.
