Harry's POV
Niall and I were just finishing putting together the final piece of furniture in the house, a dresser for one of the guest rooms, when I heard the front door open and familiar giggles echoed down the hall. I immediately jumped up and raced down the stairs to find my sister and the kids standing in the foyer, looking around and taking in the new house.
"Dad!" Hank said excitedly as I scooped him up and squeezed him tighter than I probably should have, before I crouched down and held my arm out so Mace could throw her body into mine.
"I missed you guys." I sighed. "You alright? You have fun with Auntie Gem?"
They pulled away to look at me, both of their faces lit up with huge grins that filled me with adoration, before they both started talking over each other as they told me all about all of the things they'd done. I listened intently, studying both of their faces and basking in their innocence as their eyes lit up at the talk of Santa and his workshop and all the things they'd learned when they'd visited him at the mall.
"And then we saw his list of all the naughty kids and it was really long, but I don't think me or Mace is on it." Hank said worriedly. "I didn't see our names, I don't think we've been that bad."
A light laugh escaped me as I leaned forward and kissed his head, once again admiring the way their innocent little minds worked as I pulled away to look at them.
"There's no way you made the naughty list, you've been angels all year." I smiled softly.
"Except when I pushed Tommy, that coulda got me." Hank sighed.
"He kinda deserved it though." I reassured him.
"Yeah, Tommy made the naughty list for sure!" Mace said, rolling her little eyes as I reached out and tickled her.
I scooped them both up, walking them around the house as they pointed out things in every room excitedly, barely able to contain themselves by the time we made it to their bedrooms.
"Cool!" Hank squealed as we walked into his new room, Hannah and I had decided to decorate with bunk beds and all kinds of photos of outdoors to cater to his fascination with all things wilderness. "This is really my room?"
"All yours, buddy. Look, your clothes are already in your closet." I smiled as I opened his closet door and he peeked inside.
"Where's my room?" Mace asked as she tugged on my shirt. "I wanna see."
I picked her up and carried her next door to her room, Hank following behind us as I flipped on the light and her little face lit up.
"No way!" She said as she looked over at me and I just smiled and put her down. "It looks like a princess room!"
She looked around, taking in the details we'd put in to make it look somewhat like a castle, since she was currently in a Disney princess phase. We knew we'd have to switch things up as they got older, but we wanted them to be excited to be in the new house and have a place that felt like their own.
Once the kids were acquainted with their rooms, I took them down to the play room so they could see where all their toys were, before we headed back to the kitchen where everyone else seemed to have gathered.
"There they are!" Louis smiled as I put the kids down and they ran over to him. "I was wondering where you ran off to."
"Dad was showing us our new rooms, Uncle Lou. They're really cool." Hank smiled as Louis ruffled his hair and smiled down at him.
