-Serena's POV- 
                          
Ever since last week, (Y/N) has been acting.. weird around us.. she doesn't eat with us anymore at lunch and when we wave at her, she'd smile but walk away quickly. Was she angry at us? Did we do something? 
                          
Although when I look into her eyes, I could see sadness.. and.. fear..
                          
But.. who or what is she scared of? 
                          
And why isn't she telling this to us? We're her friends! We're always there for her! 
                          
Yesterday, she looked really tired, as if she didn't get any sleep. And when someone from our classes ask why she's acting like that, she'd try her hardest to change the topic. 
                          
I'm getting really worried about her so I decided to meet up with her right by the fountain on our school. 
                          
Suddenly, I was interrupted from my thoughts as I saw a girl walking towards me and I smiled slightly, "Hey," I greeted. 
                          
"Hi," she said, forcing a smile on her face as she sat down next to me on the bench I was currently sitting on. 
                          
"So.. (Y/N).." I started, "I wanna ask you something." I saw that she tensed but she nodded. 
                          
"I.. I've noticed that you've been acting weird around us.. like.. you never go with lunch with us anymore.. and you'd always ignore us.. did we do something? Please tell me.." I said. 
                          
"I.. It's not that.. you guys didn't do anything.." 
                          
"Then why..?" 
                          
"It's.. It's.. nothing, really.." she looked down. 
                          
"(Y/N), please.." I pleaded. 
                          
"It's really nothing, ok? It's just stupid.."
                          
"Please.. I swear I won't tell anyone.." 
                          
"Lie," she said coldly, and I winced slightly. 
                          
"Come on, (Y/N), you're our friend.. just tell me what's wrong.." I begged.
                          
"Just leave me alone," she said, getting up but I held her hand tightly. 
                          
"Let me go!" She shouted, desperately trying to escape my grip.
                          
"Tell me what's wrong first, then I'll let you go," I said, tightening my grip. 
                          
"It's nothing! Why don't you ever believe me!" She screamed.
                          
"I know it's not nothing, (Y/N). Just tell it to me so we can help," 
                          
"No. Now let me go!" 
                          
"(Y/N), please!" I pleaded.
                          
"Just stop it, Serena, please!" 
                          
"Please, (Y/N), we're getting really worried," I tightened my grip on her as I felt her hand slipping out of mine. 
                          
"LET. ME. GO!" she bellowed, and without thinking, I let go of her. She grabbed her backpack and left without a word.

Once I got home, I said hello to my mom and went upstairs to my room to change into my pajamas and started my homework. I could barely focus as I kept on thinking about (Y/N) but I managed to finish it before dinner. Just when I was about to sleep, my phone suddenly vibrated and I saw that my friends - Clemont, Ash, and Bonnie, had texted me. 
                          
Ash: Did you talk to (Y/N)? 
Me: Yes, but.. she kind of got angry at me and just left..
Clemont: I wonder what's happening to her..
Ash: She wasn't like this until Maddie showed up..
Bonnie: Wait. Maddie! 
Me: What about her? 
Bonnie: (Y/N) was acting normal until she came! And she also accused and embbaressed her! 
Clemont: So, you're saying that it's Maddie behind all of this?
Bonnie: Oh, I don't know.. OF COURSE IT IS HER! 
Clemont: Okay. Okay.. sorry..
Ash: But.. what did (Y/N) even do to Maddie? 
Me: I guess that's what we're going to do, then: Find out why Maddie's like that to (Y/N), then when we find out, we're going to clear everything out
Bonnie: Wee!! I'm so excited!! We get to be like detectives!! 
Clemont: Bonnie.. now's not the time.. this is serious..
Bonnie: I know.. I know..
Ash: So.. what are we gonna do? 
Me: First. We need to find out why Maddie's so angry at (Y/N).
