Chapter Eighteen: The Glow That Ended It

"What you're about to do?"She asked. She shook her head in disbelief. "Don't. Don't do anything, don't make your life more dangerous."

"Actually, this plan will make it less dangerous, if succeeded,"Llyr chimed in. I glanced at him and he shut his mouth. I looked back at my mother again.

"I'm going to kill Aerglo, mother,"I told her. Geo seemed surprised. "I've mastered the bow and arrow...and learned some of my Golden Warrioress abilities...I can't stop time or anything crayz like that, it's more along the lines of I never miss my target."

"Aerglo is king now. There's no way you'll be able-"

"Alois, I wouldn't argue with her. Can't you see?"Geo murmured. His eyes were filled with emotion. "She's doing this to free your son, to free Kai. She's doing this so I can come out of hiding. So that we don't have to fear for our lives any longer. She's putting her life on the line to save ours. That's the greatest thing one can do for another, so don't discourage her. I doubt she'll listen anyways." Geo gave a little laugh at the end. He gave me a look of pride. "She's as stubborn as myself and Minerva put together." Alois snorted and sighed, waving his hand.

"Fine. But when you succeed, you better make sure I get my wedding invitation Isla,"he told me. I felt my cheeks flush. "Yes, I know you're probably going to marry the second prince, spoiled as he is. With you he'll be ten times as spoiled, but I bet you that you're all he's ever wanted. Tore him apart when you forgot him." I sighed and looked down in thought. That's sad to know. I looked back up.

"I'll win. Kai will come back, you can be sure of it,"I declared. I rose back up and wiggled my fin. "You're all going to be liberated. Llyr, let's go."

When we made it back to the docks, everyone looked away while i got dressed. We set out to the castle, and Castor filled us in on what we missed.

"I contacted Jace. He's going to get us in through the underground passage. King Aerglo's throne room is usually only occupied by three guards and himself,"Castor told us. He lead us into a forest. "This way. This is where we enter the underground part. Erembour, here's where you come in. It's very dark, try to clear some of the shadows, please." Erembour nodded at him and grasped his spear. I grabbed Castor's hand as we walked, feeling an icy stare from Hajime hit my back. What's his deal? A smirk flew up onto Castor's face and he squeezed my hand. We made our way down into the tunnels and Erembour began clearing shadows as we walked. I held onto Castor, and by the time we reached a big wooden door in the path, I knew what was about to happen. My heart dropped into my stomach with anxiety.

Castor...I'm scared. I thought. His thumb stroked my hand calmingly, trying to make me feel better.

Me too, Isla. Me too. He replied in my head. We all stopped and stared at the giant wooden door.

"This is it,"I heard Saros speak. Castor and I turned to look at him. "Right now...we're staring at our future king and queen." I felt my heart skip a beat at the comment. "Miss Isla....I'll drop the Miss once you defeat my eldest brother." I gave him a sad look. He shook his head. "Don't be sad." I heard a sigh come from Anwyl.

"Man. The future king and queen, standing right here. Incredible. Well, if I don't see you again, Princess, just let it be said that you're the only Warrioress I'll ever trust,"Anwyl told me. My heart clenched in sadness. I knew these were their parting words....they were only meant to be the distractions in the outer castle, while we were to take care of Aerglo. It left me with an emptiness, knowing that as we were going to go through this door, they'd go back out of the tunnel and put their lives on the line immediately. We had a chance...they would only rely on each other's strength. It hurt. I gave Anwyl a sad look.
