I stare at the TV. What?
                          
The newsreader starts to speak.
                          
"This morning, a woman by the name of Ayano Aishi called the police, claiming that Megami Saikou, daughter of the man who created the famous Saikou Corp, had kidnapped her friends and threatened to kill Ayano. Ayano also stated that her friends were free now, but she was concerned that Megami would strike again. The police went to search for Megami, and once they found her, it was brought to their attention that Megami had been murdered."
"Murdered?" I squeal. "No way!"
                          
Taro and I hear the unmistakable sound of a car pulling up near our house. We both look out the window and gape at the police car, the doors opening, the officers getting out. The officers coming to our door.
                          
"Ayano Aishi is being held as the main suspect," the newsreader finishes.
"What?" I wail.
"It's okay. I'll help you," Taro says, opening the door and welcoming the officers inside. I watch them through my worried eyes.
"Ms Aishi?"
"Y-yes. That's me."
"I'm assuming you've heard the incident about Megami."
"Yes. I've just heard about it on the news."
"What do you have to say?"
"I-I..." I take a deep breath. "The last time I saw Megami was when she had kidnapped my friends. That was... only yesterday. I haven't seen her since. We did get into quite a big fight, but I didn't kill her. Taro was there, if you want to ask him about the incident."
"Okay," the main officer says. "Taro?"
"Ayano was right, she found us yesterday. I have to bring it to your attention that Megami took one of our friend's phones and sent us strange texts. She kidnapped us one by one, until Ayano knew something was up and went to look. She found a warehouse, found us, and started to fight Megami. Megami did threaten to kill her. Megami also had someone else there, who went by the name of Nemesis." Taro looks at me.
"Nemesis... yes. She had short black hair, fair skin... just my height... and red eyes."
"Red eyes?"
"Yes, I'm certain that Nemesis has red eyes."
"Right... thank you. We'll be on our way now."
                          
And just like that, they leave. I take a few deep breaths.
                          
"Are you okay?"
"We were just interrogated by the police, do you think I'm okay?" I stand up and sigh. "I think I'm going to go out. Get some fresh air. I'll see you later."
                          
I make my way into the forest. It's autumn, and it looks beautiful. Even after what happened to us here.
                          
I hear two familiar voices, and follow them. I stay behind some bushes and spy on them. Kokona and Riku? This could be important.
                          
"Kokona, there's something I want to say.
"Yeah? Go ahead."
Riku takes a deep breath. "We've been together for longer than I can remember, and I know we've had our ups and downs, but in the end, it's been great." He pauses.
"Go on!" Kokona smiles patiently.
"Kokona... Every time I look into your eyes... I can see us having a good time together. I can see us smiling. I can see us having a future together. I want you to know that I want to spend the rest of my life with you."
                          
Riku goes down onto one knee, and Kokona holds her hands on her heart. I smile from my hiding place. Riku takes out a small box and opens it. It holds the most beautiful ring.
                          
"Kokona Haruka, will you marry me?"
"Yes, yes, yes! A million times yes!"
                          
Kokona leaps into his arms, and they share an embrace, both crying with happiness. My heart warms at the sight of them.
                          
"Well done, you two," I whisper happily.
