Betty and Jughead called Veronica, Archie and I to meet them in the Blue and Gold office this morning. The three of us walked in together and I hopped onto the desk.
"The reason we called you in here..." Betty started and turned to Jughead.
"My Dad's getting out of jail." Jughead says with a huge smile.
"That amazing, Jug." I say.
"Jug, that's great." Archie says.
"Yeah, what heralded this miracle?" Veronica asks.
Archie and Jughead share a look before he answers. "Overcrowding at the jail, I guess the judge reviewed my Dad's case and after Cheryl's testimony it was a perfect storm."
"What do you need from us, Jug?" Archie asks.
"We have a new lead on the Black Hood case and Jughead and I were wondering if you guys would follow up on it for us. We can give you all the details, the articles." Betty hands them a file folder full of stuff.
"It's just that I have to be there for my Dad to help with his re-entry, so." Jughead explains.
"Uh, yeah and I'm taking a break from the Black Hood." Betty adds.
"Wait, so you want us to be you guys?" Veronica asks.
"Essentially, yes. Why, is that a problem?" Jughead asks. Veronica and Archie look at each other and shake their heads.
"Hey, Jug. Can I talk to you in the hall for a sec?" I ask. He furrows his brow at me but nods. I get down from the table and we both walk out of the room and I shut the door behind us.
"What's up, Bev?"
"I just wanted to tell you before you found out from someone else, um Sweet Pea and I kinda sort of hooked up." I fiddle with my fingers nervously.
"Wait a minute. Didn't you and Reggie just break up? And now you're with Sweet Pea?" Jughead asks.
"Hey, it was more than a few hours after." I fire back and his face drops. "Yeah, I know about what happened with you and Toni." I say in a whisper.
"Okay, I'm sorry but it's just a little confusing when you have literally been in love with Reggie for live five years and now you're dating Sweet Pea."
"We aren't official or anything but I really like him and I want to see where it goes." I say. "Look, I wasn't telling you to ask for your approval, I just wanted you to hear it from me before you hear it from someone else."
He looks like he's thinking for a moment before he says, "Just be careful."
I tagged along with Jughead to the Whyte Wyrm to tell the Serpents that FP is getting out. I find Sweet Pea sitting by the bar.
"Hey, what are you doing here?" He asks when I walk into his line of sight. I point to Jughead who's walked into the middle of the bar in front of the pool table.
