Chapter Eight

Laxus Dreyar

“Over my dead body…” I took Talia and then placed her behind me.

“Talia, you know it is what’s best for all of the people here.” The man named Mori spoke calmly. I was starting to get really pissed off, and also scared for some reason. I have the power of the fairy law and fairy glitter in me but right now, I feel so helpless for some reason.

“I am not the Talia you are searching for.” Soldiers suddenly rushed over to us. With one blow, I made them all fly away except Mori. I didn’t hurt him. I didn’t need to. I want him to suffer slowly for everything he has placed Talia into. If it weren’t for him, she would still be in one piece.

“Dear me, do we really have to go through all this trouble?” Mori pulled out a paper that shows a warrant of arrest. “She will no longer be placed in prison. Talia Witchburn, you will be executed, tomorrow at full moon and the demon inside of you will be sealed away.”

“I am not going!” Talia yelled at him. Damn right she isn’t!

“You know what’s best for Earth Land Talia. You must come with me, now.” He looked at her as if he was pleading. “We don’t need you terrorizing people again. I am sorry for what I did to you but right now you really have no chance. This is the only way you can save those people around you. You must die. Do you want to kill your guild members again?” I had very keen sense of hearing and right now, I could feel her heart beat racing. I looked at her and she looked like she was in agony.

“As she said she’s not going—”

“How do you know that I will be taken over by the power of Zeref again?” Talia cut me off. I felt nervous right now. It was as if she was actually thinking about going there.

“Because, I know you too well… You have been watched for a year now and it has been confirmed that you had series of breakdowns where you are controlled by your dark magic. You cannot remember it because you weren’t in control of yourself. The black tattoo on your chest is worsening and I can see it starting to creep on your neck. You must die for everyone’s safety. My nephew Jerome was the top agent watching over you.” Mori explained.

“If you want to live, go away.” This time I really showed a lot of my power and he was slowly getting electrified by it.

“I’m leaving…” He said, horrified by me. “Think about it.”

“No you listen here pal! If it weren’t for you she should have never gone through all those painful stuff she went through! I should just kill you right now.” I held up my hand and created am electric sphere in my hand that I was so ready to disperse to him.

Talia grabbed my arm and then suddenly sucked it all in. “Now, now. Let us not be too hasty. I won’t let you kill him. Mori, go away.” The man did as she said and once the guard gained consciousness, they left as well.

It took us a few minutes before any of us can speak. “Come on honey. Let’s go back to the guild. There is nothing in here.” She waved her hand and got the books to normal.

“Maybe we didn’t search enough.” I urged.

“No, I’ve had enough disappointment today. This is where I draw the line.” She forced out a smile for me. I can tell she was hurting.
