Rebecca
I swing the door open and hear the house fall silent as I step into the living room. I stop by the door and see a woman I've never seen before sitting in a nice dress. Her makeup was as flawless as ever and her black hair was in curls. Her skin was like snow whites in the fairy tale.
"Are you Andre's new girlfriend?" She hesitantly nods, "Yeah why?" I wipe under my eyes with my fingers, "Rebecca." Andre says from behind me. I choke back the tears as I turn for the door. I walk out and softly close the door and jog down the porch steps.
I shuffle my feet through the grass as the wind dries my tear stained face, "So fucking stupid." I say to myself and my phone slips between my fingers landing softly in the grass. I bend down to pick it up and end up sitting on the grass holding my phone in my hands as my mascara filled tears tear down my make up. I bring up my knees and put my head in between them. Everything that I've had bottled up is just coming out. I can hear myself begin sobbing as my chest heaves in and out.
Get up now.
But I can't, I can't move. I can't breathe. Two hands bring my face up and I squeeze my eyes shut, "Becks you need to calm down." Jack's voice is soft as he attempts to comfort me. I open my eyes and see Kaitlyn marching towards the house taking long strides. I shake my head, "I told you he hates me and you didn't listen to me." I push his hands off and rest my hands on the back of my neck and put my head back between my knees.
"Why does no one ever listen to me?" I sob. The only sound is me crying and my heavy breathing. Two hands unfold my hands and grip my upper arms pulling me up off the ground. I look up and see Andre staring back at me. I shake him off and pick my things up off the ground and struggle to regain my balance, "No you don't get to judge me." I point at him and he sighs taking a step towards me, "Come on Becca, give me the keys." I shake my head, "Like hell I will."
He takes steps towards me and snatches my keys from my hand, wow, "Give them back." I reach for them and he stuffs them in his pocket, "What are you doing out here?" I narrow my eyes at him, "We weren't done talking." I scoff, "We were done talking when I first knocked on the door." His eyes beg as I wipe my cheeks with the sleeve of my sweater. Well that's not coming out. He takes a step closer and I can feel his breath on me, "Just let me drive you, you can't drive like this."
His voice is sincere, "I'm fine." I say as my bottom lip quivers, "Becca just let him." Kaitlyn begs me to listen to Andre. I swallow, "Its too far of a drive, I'll just ride with one of you guys." I sniffle and Andre stands in front of me, "I don't mind driving you." He says meeting my eyes, "Your girlfriend does." I say wiping my face again, "Beck, just please let me do this one thing." His eyes plead just as much as his words.
I sigh, "Fine." He hands my keys to Kaitlyn and puts his hand on the small of my back leading me to his car. He opens the door and I get in reluctantly. Kaitlyn hands me my purse and I let it sit in my lap. My door closes and a couple moments later Andre slides in the driver's seat starting the engine. I click my seat belt and turn my body away from him watching out the window.
I close my eyes and listen to the silence in the car as we move. I feel myself drifting off when we come to a complete stop and Andre cuts off the engine. I open my eyes and see we're at his apartment building, "So you can freshen up." He opens his door and I click my seat belt, I get out holding my purse as I follow him up the stairs. I stand there awkwardly as he turns the key unlocking the door. He flips on the light switch and allows me to walk in first. I walk in and everything looks the same but there's a different vibe.
He closes the door and walks around me to the bedroom pulling off his sweater, "You can use the big bathroom." I ignore him and walk towards the spare quickly closing the door behind me. I look at myself in the mirror. My cheeks are smudged with black mascara while puffy.
