Call Me by Le Malls and Lilianna Wilde
"Are you ready for the dance tonight? Hova said it was gonna be the bomb," Side asked me as we walked to school.
"Since when do you say 'the bomb?' I asked him.
"Since my best friend got a boyfriend and I have a bomb group of friends."
I laughed softly at Side's excitement. I guess the year was kind of turning out to be the bomb.
As I reached the door to Mr. Wilson's classroom, I saw Polen approaching from the other direction. He looked down and slowed when he saw me. I did the same.
"Polen?" I said. Trying to get his attention.
"Hey G. Can't talk right now I have to...uh...talk to Mr. Wilson about the essay." He replied and sped up to get through the door before me. I watched him go to his seat and take out his things, obviously having no intention to talk to our teacher.
I didn't understand it. One second he's the tough guy with piles of friends and he has it out for me, the next he's reserved and quiet. I took my seat but couldn't help but thinking that it was somehow my fault that Polen had changed so much. Leave it up to me to feel responsible for my bully's sadness.

Shadow intercepted Side and I as we were leaving school.
He greeted me with a kiss and I was very self conscious of just how many people were walking by us at that very moment. I flinched away slightly when our lips connected and I mentally kicked myself for being scared.
Shadow seemed to take it in his stride. I looked into his eyes and found they were slightly blurry, the green dimmed. He was high.
"I want to hang out with you before the dance, babe. Get some food, do our makeup." He laughed.
I looked at Side and knew that he had also noticed Shadow's change in state.
"I think G's gonna get food with me. But we'll see you guys there. It will be more mysterious that way." Side said quickly and I was surprisingly glad.
"Okay if that's what you want, we can hang out after. I know of three separate parties we can crash."
He squeezed my hand and demanded that we at least allow him to give us a ride home.
I tossed my backpack onto my bed when I got to my room. Shadow was high. My boyfriend was high. Right now. While we were at school. But what had I expected? Just cause I was a goody two shoes didn't mean that everyone else was. Also he was an upperclassman. And I had seen him buy the pot at school. I should have seen it coming
"Fuck!" I swore aloud. "Come on, G. This can be you now. This is what you've always wanted. A boyfriend, real friends, no more bullying. What's wrong with you?!"
But if this was what he wanted, why did it feel so wrong.
