Victor POV

I don't know where I'm going, I have nowhere to go. Maybe I could beg for my mother to take me back in...no.

The night is cold, an icy December wind blows through the trees scattering the last of the leaves to the ground. All I can hear is the chattering of teeth and the racing of my own heartbeat as I run away from the only love I've ever known.

Eventually, I reach my car parked a few streets down and climb in, removing the chilling wind from my back. I pull a blanket out of the back seat and wrap myself in it, cuddling the soft fabric, however, secretly wishing it was the small boy with raven hair and chocolate brown eyes. The boy that makes my heart skip every time I see him, the only boy in the world that I want and love and need. But his mother is right, I don't deserve Yuri, I don't deserve to feel his warm touch or see his loving smile. He means the world to me and that is why I must do this, I'm such a screwup. I breathe out heavily lost in my thoughts, winding myself up more and more until tears come bursting out and I start to sob until I'm too tired to continue and my eyes fall closed, salt lines staining my face and the once dry blanket now wet.

I wake early the next morning to a loud banging on the window of my car and some guy in a suit telling me to 'get out of the fucking way' quickly I turn the engine on and drive. Snow had fallen overnight and the streets were now covered in a thin sheet of white.

I check the time quickly, 7:30, I contemplate whether I should risk going to school, after all, there is no doubt that I will see Yuri there. However school does mean a shower and a hot meal at lunch, so I drive through the blanketed streets and park at the school entrance. I push open the door of my old car and climb out walking up to the gate. Locked. A few meters down the road I notice a tree growing close to the fence.

My hands ache, cold and numb from the snow and now scraping against the bark as I scale the large tree. When I jump down on the opposite side of the fence, the impact of the ground sends a shockwave through my legs and I stumble a little before regaining my balance and pacing towards the school.

I sneak into the PE block and into the locker room to get showered and changed. When I turn the shower on and place my hand under the running water, it's cold to the touch. I expect it to heat up but it doesn't, so I stand there leant against the white tiles, freezing cold water beating down on me but I don't feel it, any of it.

Once a towel is wrapped around me, I spray deodorant and slip on a clean top and jeans. Then making the time to be 8:00 exactly, I decide to do the homework that I haven't done and pay my history and French teacher a visit.

"Hello?" I say knocking twice, then stepping into the classroom.

A small woman looks up from a pile of papers and signals for me to take a seat, "Victor, is there something I can help you with?"

"Yes actually, it's about the class. I usually sit next to Yuri but I was wondering if I could move somewhere else."

"Is there something going on I should be concerned about? You boys normally get on so well...a little too well, I mean you're always talking..." She starts to go off on a tangent about how I need to focus more in class and I start to get agitated.

"So, can I move please?" I repeat, trying to sound as calm as possible and bringing the teacher back to the topic at hand. She smiles and lets out a small sigh.

"Alright, ill figure something out. Thank you for coming to see me, Victor."

A.N. Just wondering if people are still enjoying the book? I feel like my writing is just getting worse with every chapter I publish :/
